Default Octane 100 better?

I filled up my tank with 100 racing fuel today because it was an option at my local gas station. I wonder if I would notice any difference. No, not racing or go to track. It was $10/gallon and I got 22 gallons.

It will make a difference if you have a tune or go to the track when it is hot and are really pushing the car. The higher octane will reduce or delay detonation (pinging/knock) which will cause the ECU to reduce timing and boost. So there is a benefit, but if all you are doing is cruising around on the street it is probably a waste.

The 992 engines are optimized for 93 AKI octane fuel from the factory, anything above that is a waste if you are on the stock tune.

Higher octane burns slower. This allows you to run higher compression, or higher boost for a turbo without pinging (pre-combustion). If your car is tuned to take advantage of that by increasing the compression ratio or boost, then higher octane is worth it. Otherwise, you are not getting the performance gain.
