Looks a lot like the other 992.2 spy shots. Unclear why they’re declaring this a hybrid.

They’re declaring it a hybrid, because Porsche has confirmed that the 992.2 will be a hybrid. All will be revealed next year.

Porsche has said a hybrid is coming in the 992.2...there was never any clarity as to which models will be hybridized. My speculation is that only the top variant of the Turbo will be hybridized. If they hybridize the carrera/gts models then say bye bye to manual transmissions.

I thought they usually introduce the Carrera S and Turbo S models first, then a year or two later, the GTS. Would they release a face lifted GTS before face lifted S and Turbo S models?

Not necessarily. The Honda Insight was introduced in 1999 with a manual transmission. We are speculating that this hybrid variant will just be like a power assist, not fuel efficiency.

The yellow sticker on the rear window denotes some sort of hybrid set up. It’s safety thing since lithium ion batteries are hard to put out in a fire.
