Default Phone charging

I've just taken delivery and I'm trying to figure out how everything works. The car was shipped to me, so I didn't have an on site introduction.

I get that the 992 offers wireless phone charging and I'm assuming the phone is going to have to be out of the case for that to work. I tried it briefly in the case and saw no evidence that it was being charged.

What is the purpose of the USB-C port and cable. It doesn't appear to charge the phone.

Is there a way to charge the phone via cable/

Thanks.

The USB-C ports are for charging your phone. The port closest to you can also be used for wired CarPlay.

I don't believe it does. Did you see that in the user's manual someplace?

I don't believe wireless charging is available and according to the fom, both usb c ports can be used for wired Car Play.

I put an Apple Magsafe charger in my center console and when I need to charge put my phone in there. Otherwise it stays in my pocket.

I plugged the phone into the USB c port using the supplied cable, but it does not charge.

CarPlay is workin wirelessly.

Try using a different iPhone USB-C charging cable. I don't have a 2022 992 but that port should work for charging.

Wait, did you pay for the yearly subscription to activate the USB ports yet?

Get a cable that is Apple MFI Certified. Apple’s iPhones are notoriously picky when it comes to cables they will work with or work reliably with.
FWIW, our Porsche’s do NOT have wireless charging, even though the layout of the console floor sure does look like it does.

It's a real shame. But then the likelihood the phone would move when accelerating would have bee too high anyway

New charging cable from the dealer did not work...I guess it isn't Apple certified, but I don't know if there is a way to verify that.
