Default Having my GTS wheels painted. Platinum or GT?

I’m going for a classic look on my Targa GTS with the roll hoop in Silver Aluminium finish. This is available as a zero cost option in UK.
The car will be PTS Amethyst.
The centrelock Turbo S alloys are only available in black. I don’t like black and they won’t look good with the silver hoop so they have to be painted after delivery.
The question is: Should I go for GT Silver or Platinum Silver?

I think GT Silver is more Metallic and Plat is flatter so could work better on wheels. Either option will be Satin cleared.

I had the GT Silver rims on my 996 Turbo S which looked good but I’m leaning to plat as a better match for the satin Aluminium finish of the roll hoop.

Looking for opinions from experienced experts in Porsche colours and Silvers. Thanks.

I don’t like black either, so I opted for Prismatic Powders Ultra Black Chrome. Almost identical to BBS Diamond Black and looks like polished pewter.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll check out their range of powders. I’m looking for something a close match to the Aluminium finish of the roll hoop so that might be a bit dark but powder would definitely be a more hard wearing option than paint.

I’ve just googled Prismatic Powders and they actually do a Porsche silver…

PORSCHE SILVER

(Item: PMS-0439)

It looks like a decent match for the roll hoop. If I can get that done in the UK it could be a goer.

I’ll make more investigations. Thanks.

What a stupid, ignorant and inaccurate comment.

As the OP I have already found significant worth in the comments of F8Driver in his recommendation of Prismatic Powder. From that information I have found a suitable Porsche Silver that looks a good match for me roll hoop.

The only thing worthless is your silly comment which as I’ve just demonstrated is totally wrong.

Feel free to jog on. Thanks.

Apology retracted.

Thread rendered useless not by a lack of pictures for fools with no imagination to look at but by idiots whining who think they’re comedians.

relax…it’s a saying often used in threads to lighten it up and also eluding would be nice to have pics to see what you are talking about. Threads with pictures is like instagram with reels. Surprised you have not seen this standard comment before.

@F8Driver - like @Marcha I'm exploring changing the color on my GTS wheels, but I don't know enough about the difference between painting or powdercoating and which application works better for the stock wheels that come with the GTS. How long have you had the Prismatic finish on your wheels, and are they holding up? I found a few local shops who are Qualified Prismatic Coating locations but interested to learn more about your experience.

Default Silver Wheels on a GTS

For those needing pix (myself included) I have attached what I wish were an option for the GTS.
Like the black wheel but like the silver more; wish Porsche offered the option.
May have to refinished when the car arrives....in

the mean time I'll just look at the PS files I made.
Also cant decide between black or white.
