Pretty sure my 997’s both had open diffs, certainty the .1 base would have and most likely the ‘09 .2S as well unless Porsche included it in the Australian spec, they had quite a few standard items that were optional in other markets. Either way, I don’t recall either of them behaving like this and I did plenty of fast road and track miles in them.

I prefer performance cars dialed in closer to neutral or oversteer than most of our customers. At 32 psi front and 38 rear cold my C2S behaves very well at high lateral loads for street driving. Those pressures are probably a long ways off for track use, but I’d not think you are commenting on that aggressive of use

I have driven a 2022 992S RWD and 2022 992 Turbo S AWD back-to-back on track. It is a different experience in cornering. Not only the RWD v. AWD difference others have mentioned above, but your AWD front end is heavier by the additional weight of the front transaxle. Not saying one is better over the other…..just saying they are noticeably different..

Did you have rear active steering in one car and not the other?

It’s a combination of RAS/AWD/PDCC on the Turbo S that you are probably feeling. All three systems compliment each other. You just need to adapt to the new car.
I ended up not being a big fan of the 991.2 TT that I used to own, though the power was addictive. I thought the 992 C2S felt like more of a sports car. I love the 992 TTS though - it’s the best of both worlds.

RAS likely giving you the feel you describe. In conjunction with no AWD I’ve heard others say the same

^+1. 500 miles on 992 GTS w/RAS. Have felt this little wiggle as well.

In almost all of the RAS debate threads you'll see similar mentions as the argument to NOT order RAS. That said, track times appear to be consistently faster with it, so even though it feels a bit odd, the reality is that its doing its job and the rear is plenty planted despite the feeling.

Just to be clear, my car does not have RAS but I feel the 'squirm'. When I get it back from the shop (battery issue) I'll try it out with PSM on/sport/off and see if that makes a difference.
