Default New 992 carrera gts with rattle from passenger seat area

Hi Everyone - I took delivery of a 2022 carrera gts coupe last week. Yesterday was the first time I drove it for longer than 5 min.

I noticed the rattle on freeway around 70+ over slightly rough patch, and then off the freeway on local road at slow speed when road is not super smooth. I tried to hold passenger seatbelt to rule that out. I also looked around to see if there were any loose object around passenger side but no avail. I looked in dash compartment and there is nothing there as well.

i have called porsche service for an appointment but its not for another three weeks.

any suggestions to see if i can save a trip to dealership? Thanks!!

My passenger seat had a slight rattle when I first got my C2. I adjusted the passenger seat position back and forth a couple times, and the rattle went away. Not a very high tech solution, but in my case, it worked. No other rattles in 3,000 miles of (occasional) spirited driving.

Is the extra cup holder insert rattling around in your glove box? Do you have manual seats and your passenger seat is not properly clicked into spot?

Are you sure it’s not the door?

Mine rattled going home from the dealership and it was the insert for replacing the cup holder rolling around in the glove box. I’ve also had a rattle from the 4 ways not being engaged all the way. Probably not possible on the 18 ways so disregard that.

Have someone else drive and sit in the passenger seat. That might make it easier to locate the source.
