One of the most important settings on a car alignment is thrust angle. Zero angle means both the rear wheels are toed in the same amount. If the rear wheels are not toed in even the car will push to one side under accretion and can become unstable under hard braking. Over the years I have found an easy way to check.
Drive the car on the straight level stretch of road take your hands off the steering wheel at about 30 miles an hour put it in second gear and accelerate hard. If the car goes straight you have zero thrust angle meaning both wheels are toed in the same amount. If it pushes to one side the thrust angle is off.
This isn’t a measurement of how much toe in. You could have too little or too much total toe. What it will tell you, if it’s even side to side which is very important.
Everybody has seen the extreme of bad thrust angle, a car or truck dog tracking(crabbing ) down the road. . Carl
