This is the best thread ever. I'm 59 and my C2S manual arrives in Q1 next year. I often wondered if I will still enjoy the manual tranny when i'm in my late 60s or early 70s. This thread gives me confirmation that age is just a number.
59 as well and have been enjoying my 2021 C2S MT every day! The tranny is awesome you will love it!
Great idea for a thread. My 4th 911, had it for 11 months now, love it so much. It keeps me young. I'm not gonna lie, it's a bit tough to get out of, much more so than my 2012 Turbo S but I manage.
My 2022 992S is my 9th Porsche at 66 years old. First Porsche was a 1977 911S G body which I never should have sold when we were expecting our first child some 30+ years ago.
Wait until college tuition, weddings, etc roll around. You just got started.
Two daughters. One graduated and one still in college. Both private college tuition. Buying a 911 is about a quarter of what we wrote in tuition checks. Start funding that 529b early!

Yea, I went to an Ivy League school, so know how expensive private schools can be. Luckily I had a scholarship. Never put any financial drain on my parents.
Wait until they get married. 😱 Traditionally, most of the expenses are on the “father of the bride”. Neighbors girls cost him about $200k (weddings and assistance with honeymoon). He said that was nothing…he use to work for Four Seasons in Georgetown, and he’s seen or heard of weddings held there running a 7 figure tab. The most expensive one he has heard of was the daughter of some Saudi prince, who’s daughter was attending Georgetown. He claims that wedding was about $7 million. They did such elaborate things as bringing in custom (rose colored - his daughter’s favorite color) marble floors for the reception area. Some people go way overboard when it comes to weddings.
Luckily, I have two boys. One of my son’s gf’s parents were not well off, so they couldn;’t really help, financially, so I offered to help, with one caveat - the money I contributed was to go for a substantial down payment on a house…and not to a one-off wedding/honeymoon. Worked out great, and my new daughter in law actually thanked me (gave me a big hug) for putting the money into something lasting, like a house, rather than on one day event like a wedding.
Best of luck.
