Mine is a 991.2, but if the tire road noise were significantly lower, my 911 would then be close to perfect for daily driver and long distance duty.

I have a 981 Cayman GTS, but I’d pull the trigger on a 992 Carrera T in an instant. I also have a ton of experience with car audio as a hobby. See my Cayman audio build.

50lbs of the dampener EDM 1029 would be 180 sqft. That’s a crazy amount to do in a 2-door car. Also, dampener only needs to go in the center of panels. There are diminishing returns for completely covering the interior panels like in OP’s photos.

The absorber SM600L is just 3M Thinsulate cloth, like what’s inside a puffy winter coat. It weighs nothing. Place it anywhere there is a gap (just not between you and the exhaust).

You could probably do the doors, all 4 wheel wells, and rear quarter panels, with like 10lbs of the EDM 1029 (35sqft). It will weigh less installed if you trim the pieces to fit. And there’s OEM dampening material you can scrape in places like the doors to actually cut a few lbs.
