Default Bring back my lava!!!

Anyone hear anything about why Porsche eliminated lava? I had a lava s cab on order but now that my car is going to roll into 23 I need to rethink my build (or do pts). Pretty bummed!

There’s always PTS. The era of Miami Blue and Lava Orange is over.

The era of 50 shades of gray (subdued colors) is upon us.

I'd take a shade of gray if it got me more....

I was always planning on getting a ‘23, but similar situation in that I was settled on LO and now don’t know what to do. I don’t really want the cost for PTS on top of the ‘23 increase. But I’m otherwise looking at GR or RY, neither of which I’m thrilled with. I don’t want to spend $175k on a car I’m not thrilled with.

I fretted over lava Orange vs. Racing Yellow. I made my decision and no regrets. Maybe this will help?

Thanks. I think between PTS, GR, and RY, I’m leaning toward RY, but I want a cab with roof stripes and I’m just not sure I like that with the yellow.

I’ve had a pic of one on my phone for a while. I’m still thinking…

Pic below for reference.

Jhenson29 - totally feel your pain. I have started to look at ry as well but might end up settling on GB (which is super close to the color on my current 981 boxster). Also looking at GR but not feeling it and think it’s a lot of $ to upgrade to carmine. I really want a color not a silver/gray

I wish there was a way to grandfather existing orders….

So your choice seems to be:
Spend 175 and not be thrilled OR
Spend 186 and be thrilled.

At those numbers, 11K does lose some significance.

I hear you. And if there was a PTS that I felt strongly enough about, I would probably go that route. But at the moment, there’s not. There are colors I like better than GR or RY, for sure, but not 11k more. For example, Signal Yellow is much better to my eyes….but is it 11k better than RY? Hard to justify to myself.

I should maybe tamp down “not thrilled”. I would absolutely be thrilled to be in a manual cab of any color. Just disappointed about LO and really the lack of color in ‘23 in general.

Just be aware that RY does change tone/temperature depending on the lighting. You should see it in person before making any decisions. When I saw it, I preferred it to the classic Speed Yellow.

There was a RY 991 at my dealer at the beginning of the week that I almost went to look at in anticipation of LO being removed, but it’s gone now. But I’ll keep an eye out.

Interesting. I’m excited to see this color. I wonder how it’s different from Ruby Star.
