Like a fine watch versus an Apple Watch, I'd wager that a small number of future buyers will prefer and seek out the physical, milled tach of the 992 versus the all-digital cluster of the upcoming 992.2.
There is nothing mechanical or finely crafted about the current tachometer. The tachometer gets its signal from the ECU so it is not a mechanical linkage to the engine. I doubt anyone will care about the tachometer.

I certainly care and based on other comments I’ve seen on here I’m certainly not alone. I personally am just a bit sick of all the digital instrument clusters. At least Porsche still integrates theirs into the dash - other manufacturers now are just smacking one large screen on top of the dash like an afterthought (hey there BMW and Mercedes).

I'm not a fan of the digital tach. it doesn't matter that the current "mechanical" one isn't driven by a gear and a cable. it's still a physical object and more enjoyable. I'd actually prefer as much of the instrument cluster as possible be physical objects.
but don't listen to me. i think the lady shaver is an aesthetic improment over the 991 pdf shifter. it was ugly and i never used it to shift. that's what paddles are for.

I do. Our 'other' car has a fully digital dash, the 992 approach is much nicer to use.
My build would cost me $7,390 more now which is well in excess of half of my ADM. So it cost me a bit over $4K to get my car in April instead of sitting on a waiting list still today.
don't know why it sez pdk, I spec'd with a 7 speed, the only reason I'm going for the S instead of a Carrera. Just checked: still no manual with the Base.
Correct. The model year is part of the VIN. Once a VIN is issued, the model year cannot be changed.
Sorry if this has already been asked or if it's a stupid question. (My SA is on vacation so i can't ask him) my car was due to start production on 6/10, TYD still shows it "scheduled" these new prices and changes are for MY23 correct? my car and price shouldn't change correct?
