Big shout out to PCA, all the judges, volunteers, and sponsors for putting on a great show
That's an awesome result, and the car looks super clean. Congrats on the wins!

Detail and Shine is the entry level division and is split into sub-divisions based on different models and years of cars. They only look at the exterior and interior of the car
As you go up in difficulty, they include different areas of the car that are being judged. Full concours division usually looks at everything including exterior, interior, storage, engine, front and rear under carriage.

It was my first competition so I was trying to observe all the things that were judged but they have about 5 minutes to look at your car under a microscope.
From an exterior perspective they look at anything from water spots to uncleaned grease spots (like door hinges), remnants from cleaning products like wax or polish or tire shine, streaks on windows, swirls marks, etc. I saw them even checking my windshield wiper to see if it was cleaned.
From an interior perspective they look at all the nooks and crannies including center console, glove compartment, vanity mirrors, the window seams, door cubbies, etc.
They ask that everything is removed that isn't factory original so things like the owners manual can stay but everything else should be removed.

In the more advanced divisions where they judge storage and engine they ask you to remove the panels in the frunk to look at all the components. I over heard them commenting about dust or leaves that accumulated in the battery tray. Also saw them checking pulleys and wheels in the engine compartment and undersides of components. Even the holes in the hood were checked for dust or areas that were uncleaned.

Rules and regulations can vary but they are usually listed by the governing body.
