Just thought I'd provide an update on the progress of my car as the process has gone pretty smoothly for me, so far.
Production of my car actually started on July 27. When I first received an allocation and commission number in February, production was scheduled to start on July 8. Around April my start date was moved to July 15 and then towards the end of June when P seemed to be having supply chain issues and TYD was down briefly my start date moved to July 27.
Production of my car was complete on 8/23. Originally in February CP8.0 was scheduled for 7/22. In June the completion date moved to 8/26. So it actually finished three days earlier than I was expecting. The car was shown as ready for transport on TYD and in transit to Emden on 8/24. Surprisingly, TYD shows arrival at Emden port and loaded onto the Violet Ace the same day on 8/26. Seems like P has their act together now in terms of moving cars through the production process, shipping to Emden and loading them onto boats.
Today I received the long-awaited pictures of my car in production!!
I must say it looks pretty great! My car is currently scheduled to reach my dealer on 9/23, a few days earlier than in June.

Yes, I think the difference must be very subtle. I've not seen either of these colors in person, other than the samples at the dealership and PEC Atlanta. To me BRG looks to have a bit more yellow in it then Irish Green, but some say the exact opposite.
As to the German efficiency, vesselfinder.com says that Viiolet Ace arrived at Emden port on 8/25 at 09:23, loaded several hundred cars and then departed on 8/26 at 21:31. That seems pretty impressive. Wondering if my car will arrive 5-7 d earlier than the predicted date of 9/23?
I had always thought that Zuffenhausen largely shut down in August to change to the new MY cars and for the August holiday that all Europeans observe. Obviously, this year production continued, at least to some extent. MY change has also been delayed. I wonder how different this year has been from their usual practice? Did they keep the factory running at full capacity or decrease production to some extent?
