'22 Wireless Android Auto Now (no Porsche update required)
I have a '22 with PCM 6 that supports wired Android Auto and became tired of waiting to see if Porsche would update my car to the new software to enable wireless AA.
I picked up a Motorola MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter and just set it up in my car today.
Setup could not have been easier and so far Android Auto now pops up and connects automatically when I get into the car without any cables. It does take about 30 seconds to connect and start playing.
Please note that the adapter comes with a standard USB connector, so an inexpensive usb-c converter like the one in the photo is needed to plug into the PCM in the center compartment.
These are nearly impossible to find in stock at the moment, but you can find them with a little markup on Amazon and other sources.
My 2022 GTS has connected to an S22 no issues at all.
Wirelessly? Nice! It must have been built very recently. Android Auto support was added for '22, but via a wired connection.
From other threads, it seems as though the first cars with the software for wireless Android Auto are just showing up at dealers within the last few weeks.
No, the cable seems to end in USB-A. It's attached to the dongle and not removable. Therefore the OP mentioned using an adapter to fit into the MY22's USB-C jack.
I was curious and read about the item and its reviews at:
No idea about that particular model. Check YouTube videos reviews especially on how to link it Bluetooth.
I got the ottocast u2x....works reliably but turns the screen into a split screen. I got Spotify and maps at the same time working. The screen resolution has slightly diminished a hair since it shrank everything.

What is the usefulness of wireless android auto? I have a mini usb c cable so it doesn't bunch up and I place my phone in the same compartment for wired android auto and my phone stays at full charge. If it was built in I would use it, but buying a dongle which takes up precious space in the center armrest console seems unnecessary.
I use their equivalent CarPlay unit in our '21 Mercedes GLE which only has wired CarPlay. It works fine, takes no longer to initialize than the inbuilt wireless CarPlay in my 992.
I have a 2023 Porsche 992. It is supposed to have wireless Android auto as standard but it is not available in my country so I had to buy MA1 dongle...
USB debugging is activated
Bluetooth was setup up for my phone with the car
Bluetooth was set up with dongle too
I get a prompt on my phone to continue setup on car's screen but nothing shows up in the car's screen....
