Quote: Curious how the allocations are put in? Like does the dealer send the names on the list to porsche and they send allocations? Or is it the allocations come to the dealers and someone inputs the names who’s next on list or vip or whatever like that? Because in the beginning when I spoke to my SA, I sat down i his office and we chatted a bit and he mentioned to me that porsche is wanting more female owners so he told me to write a letter telling them a little about myself and so on and maybe porsche sometimes gives them an extra allocation for them. I mean I don’t know this is all new to me, when I ordered my 7 bmws I never had any of these jumps and issues. It was a breeze. But than again, this world at this present time is not normal either..lol
I think the letter writing thing seems more creepy than anything else.

Very sorry to hear. I can totally relate because a very similar thing happened to me (and from a dealership I had already bought 2 Porsches from!!!). Don't bother with PCNA, I can pretty much guarantee you they will do nothing except tell you dealerships are independant and they have no control over what they do. The plain and simple truth unfortunately is the dealership "f-ed" you. Someone else agreed to pay more, ADM, whatever and they got the allocation. As hard as it is to start over, I'd go find a reputable dealership and let as many people know what this stealership did to you. Good luck!

I don’t not believe the BS about writing a letter as a female to PCNA. Their advertisement and marketing is 100% geared towards women and purple haired they them their crowd.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties. My dealer experience started ~1 yr ago. Called around until I located two dealers with C2S allocations. Managed to get a $1k discount from one dealer by pointing out I was planning to purchase a higher spec car that would produce more profit for them. After inquiring about lock dates my SA indicated I didn’t actually have an allocation but should get one next month. I told him this was unacceptable based on our initial discussions, and had already paid a $10k deposit. He got back to me with an allocation saying another customer gave up his allocation since he didn’t mind waiting a little longer for his car. I received a TYD email a few days later. My build seemed to take longer than normal not sure if it was due to legitimate delays or if they were able to swap allocation slots back with the source allocation, or maybe they just hold on to allocations as long as they can unless the customer makes a stink about it.

Of course it is because no ADM was on your build they pulled this. What kind of contracts did you sign and retain copies of? Contact PCNA.

Have you asked to see the verification of the first initial and same last name "mix up"?

I would...

Quote: Hi everyone,
About 2 weeks ago I received a call from my porsche dealer saying my allocation was in and that i had a freeze date of 6/30 and deliver date of 10/28. I was super excited and every day since the phone call I have building the GTS over and over. Had already mailed them the check for the deposit 10 days ago. I kept in touch with my SA pretty often regarding his opinion on which options would be best since this was going to be my very first porsche so i wanted it to be perfect. He was super nice and helpful. Everything was great which I only thought the worst part was the 6 months wait. I had already sold my convertible on Monday thinking i need to make room for the porsche and why not sell while market was still kinda hot. But today i got a voicemail message that one of the sales rep left saying my allocation was suppose to be someone else. it wasnt meant for me, they made a mistake bc we had the same last name i guess??? I dont know how im suppose to feel? im sad, but what can i do? My SA said he would talk to the GM and see he can get me another allocation. i was told by the other sales guy i would be next but who knows? Is it bc i had no ADM on my build? I didnt fuss about it on the phone with my SA when he did call after i left an email for him bc i wanted to make sure the voice message was not a joke and it was accurate. I know this isnt first world problems..lol but i got to say, i was super excited to have joined the family soon..is this something that happens often? or was i just that lucky? Am I being too sensitive?
well that’s ****ty. Unfortunately there’s not much you can do about it. Getting your SA to bump you to the top of the list for the next allocation because he feels bad about ****ing you over is pretty much the best alternative. If you have another dealer nearby, it might be worth broadening your net and seeing who else you can do business with. Sadly, allocations are tough to get all around these days, across all marques.

I’m scared this is going to happen to me as well. I have a phone conversation agreement that I’m second on the list for a C2S allocation at MSRP. Nothing in writing and no deposit taken. They said they will wait until the order goes in to take the deposit.

I don't know where you are in terms of finances, but if you can float it, go some place else, i.e Ferrari or McLaren. And when you do, make it a point to tell them you will spend your money elsewhere.

Can't stand this kind of ****.

This would be good if you can pull it off - the Pretty Woman option.

The only "contract" is the purchase agreement where you sign on the dotted line, accept liability and ownership of the car, provide financing/cash and drive away.......otherwise there is nothing. You have no ownership interest until that occurs. The dealership can pull an allocation assigned at any time until you sign.
