Order a new 992 C2 in CA
This really makes me so upset.
I held the dream to buy a 911 when I get 24 years old.
I worked so hard in the entire year of 23 and made myself promoted in one year.
I earned enough money in one year to buy a base at MSRP to have the opportunity to do something 'crazy' before shooting for the next target.
But everything happening today just makes me so disappointed and I am gradually losing my faith. Guess I will give up the dream since I am getting 25 soon(in May) and have to compromise to normal life.

Hey everyone, thank you to all of you for your comments and advice!
After some days of work, I am back here, and have to say I love this forum as you guys are so warmhearted! I really appreciate each comment you have left.
It's true that there's something else to worry about, like a house which costs much much more than a car in the area I live(and I am not even planning to do that in the future in Bay Area).
But still, haha, you only live once right? I can earn much more in the next few more years and have enough money to buy houses, but we only live 24 for once!
In the dilemma of reality or dream, what's your choice? At least at my age, I don't want to talk about what will happen in 20 years. I regret a lot that I didn't order one when I start my work last Feb.
Anyway, I will keep watching this. Heard from my friend that his friend is selling a used GTS and I am going to take a look!

I have to imagine that is a 991 GTS. The first 992 GTSs just started arriving in the US in the last 4-6 weeks and would be selling for a very significant premium. Not that there is anything with getting a 991.2 GTS. In fact, in your situation, that might be a great solution. But even a 991.2 GTS is going to be priced "generously" these days.

I am also in the Bay Area. I secured an allocation late December for a C2. The dealership I worked with (Porsche Livermore) also were asking a $10k ADM. During initial discussions over 3-4 separate visits, the ADM was brought up but when I put my deposit down in late December on the allocation, they dropped the ADM without putting up much of a fight. Maybe because it is just a base model Carrera? But clearly not as improbable as many of the replies to this OP would suggest.
As others have commented, obtaining an allocation slot without ADM in the Bay Area is pretty near impossible. This goes for the 992 and many/most 718 models, especially the GTS and Spyder. In fact I found it easier to get a slot for a base 992 cab than the 4.0 NA 718 models which have long wait lists.
My suggestion is to find an allocation, order the car of your dreams, and commiserate with the rest of us while we wait for delivery.

I got an allocation in Bay Area with march freeze and June delivery. No adm. C2 base. U can definitely find one too. Many dealers offer such. You just have to wait several months for waitlist. I am guessing u work at a faang or unicorn where hundreds of thousand of engineers make 200k out of college and 500k after 10 years. If that’s the case, yeah don’t listen to a lot of voices on this thread. It’s your money and you will always make more later.
mind sharing where to get an allocation in Bay area? I tried Steven Creek and Fremont, both only offer waitlist for now
If you're being required to get...
We're seeing an increasing number of folks celebrating "zero ADM" while being forced to spend thousands on the above add-ons. You should have an agreed upon price and the cash required on delivery day as soon as you have a build number. If your "out the door" price doesn't require the above and you're paying MSRP (or less), you did good.
Yes, it is possible to pay less than MSRP if you have a very desirable trade-in, because the dealer will make-up that amount in the mark-up of your trade-in. You're not going to pay less than MSRP in this environment without a trade-in.
- Financing through the dealer
- PPF installed by the dealer
- Wheel/Tire warranty
- Service plan
- Porsche Watch
- etc
