I had a 981 Spyder that I modified with the Fabspeed GT420 package. NA, MT and sounded incredible. Probably my favorite Porsche of all that I’ve owned. I don’t see myself getting rid of the Touring if, from a purely sensory experience, it’s anything like the Spyder. I think it comes down to the Touring +1. For half the price of the TTS, the +1 could be another M5 - four seats, more room for luggage and, with a tune, could probably accelerate like the TTS. Yes, the TTS would handle better but, then again, the Touring will be more agile than the TTS.
The TTS is the best daily driver on the planet (yes I’m biased).

If you aren’t actually daily driving the TTS, I think you miss out on a lot of what makes this a great car. In that event, I’d probably trade it in.

I had an M5 Comp and speed is not an issue with that car, but I really hated the steering and desensitized feel, not to mention the sheer mass.

I have 2021 550I with a tune.

Make no mistake; it is a sport sedan but not a sports car. Way too heavy and I agree on the steering

But I love it as a DD because it is very luxurious and holds 3 sets of Golf clubs in the trunk

I’m not daily driving the TTS at all - which is the problem. I do agree that it would be the best daily driver. One of my offices is 5 minutes from my house, so it kind of defeats the purpose. My second office is about 30 minutes away but it treats lower income families and isn’t in the best neighborhood, so I wouldn’t drive it there.

I had ordered a 550i to replace my 2018 M5 that was due back on lease this past September. The dealer said that there were delays and I probably wouldn’t see the car until March or April (this was back in october) so I took a M440i convertible they had on the lot to use as my daily driver. It’s a nice car, but not easy to tune - requires pulling the ECU out. In stock form it has sufficient power, but nowhere near what the M5, tuned 550i or TTS has. Even tuned it wouldn’t be close.

Definitely can relate. My MY20 C2S sold for $155k back in January. $151k MSRP & I bought it with a 6% discount. Drove that car for free.

That said, I would not have sold without having its replacement locked.

So I’ve had my car for 2000 miles and I will tell you - I think the TTS is among the best 911s Porsche has ever made. Seriously. I really think it’s a truly great car. I daily drive it and I’ll blast around on the weekend too.

That said - it’s not going to play the same sport as a GT3 or a modified, hard care sports car. My weekend/Sunday car is straight up hard core and it’s just a completely different use case and a totally difference experience. The GT3 will win that fight every time and if you already have a modified Spyder, then it’s even harder to justify the redundancy of owning two 992s. The beauty of the TTS is in its duality - it’s explicitly not a single purpose car. A weekend only car really favors single purpose, hard core options (at least for me).

Of course - you always have the option of modifying the TTS and making it a complete animal. Then, you’ll transform the TTS into a vicious beast of a car. That would be pretty cool and a nice complement to your others.

Unfortunately I sold the Spyder a few years back - so no NA cars in the garage currently. Still trying to figure out a way to keep both cars - anyone need a kidney?

The best ROI that you’ll get from a 992 is to drive it — it’s the fun that you have. With the mileage that I put mine, zero regrets.

So true.

Money can buy alot of things. But memorable experiences is not one of them.

It's not a good daily driver, much less the "best" one, if you can't drive it every day, in any situation, and feel comfortable doing it -- both from a physical and psychological standpoint.

Doesn't work where I live (BC, Canada), due to our excessive tax rates. Paid almost 30% in taxes on my 992...

The tax pain in BC is real! I skipped a few options I would have for sure gotten but couldn’t stomach the price plus ridiculous tax on principle.

That being said, I take delivery of my GTS tomorrow!

Always amazed to see how quickly bored of their cars some folks here get. I have to imagine that the delta between the money made selling a used car now versus a few years ago is not really a meaningful amount of money to most of the people who read this forum. Sure, getting out of your slightly used 992 is very easy right now. But getting into a new one, or even most other cars you’d realistically cross shop, is not easy now. Driving a car you presumably enjoy for the next year or so, at least until cars become more available, isn’t worth the extra 20-30k you might get for selling it now?

I suppose if it’s your 5th 911, maybe they’re not so special anymore. For me, this will be 911 numero uno. I’m not selling it anytime soon, no matter what the dealer offers me.

Yep, my 992S MT was meant to be my weekend/summer car. Took delivery in January 2022. Have already put more mileage on it than my DD despite only driving it 1 or 2 days/week, and that's in the winter!

It's interesting to see threads like this. Mostly because I wouldn't be in this forum if I hadn't done almost the exact same thing 2 years ago with my 981 Boxster GTS... saw the hot market, decided now was a good time to move into a 911 with a 991.2.

And then did the exact same thing last year with the 911.

Granted, the primary reason I moved on from the 911 was because I put a deposit down on a 992, but I wouldn't have done it at all if the opportunity to trade it in for more than I paid (plus tax credit on top of a six-figure trade value, another $6k+) after driving it for a year wasn't there.

And here I am, just settled into getting an actual allocation and I'm already considering flipping it to get BACK into a 6 cylinder Boxster... which is right back where I started.

The grass really isn't always greener...

That said, the variable in all this is how much I'm going to enjoy the 992 while I have it.
