does anyone know anything about this? I had my dealer call me and ask me to change the color of my order for paint to sample.

It must be related to the supply chain being messed up in general. Hard to figure why it's harder to paint your car one color or another, but similar reports are in here regarding other customization options.
Seems things won't be ideal for the time being. Be glad it's just the color, I guess.

I can say for a fact that the business that I am a part of has had difficultly getting certain pigments for painting. It sounds bizarre, but it's a real supply chain issue.

To date, I’ve heard they’ve prioritized 911 production and suspect that may be further stratified by sub model.
And now Ukraine. I suppose it’s possible that the logistical burden of PTS is just one too many bottlenecks preventing Porsche from being able to be able to deliver a PTS car within a reasonable time frame.
Just a guess.
