Reading here you’d think the electrically adjusted steering wheel is a huge waste of money and time. I disagree. I expect certain things in a 150k+ car. Having the wheel adjust with memory setting is one of them. I also like the east entry function.

The one less thing to break argument is silly at best. There are so many things to break in your 992 - the electrically adjustable steering wheel is a drop in the ocean. Not to mention that electric motors are a trivial mechanism that require zero maintenance. The adjusters and windows etc in my 20 yr old m5 still work as new.

Hi, Curious if you would consider it a deal-breaker. As of right now, I think I will proceed with the order

No, it is definitely NOT a deal breaker.

Not a deal breaker, no. But I wouldn’t pretend it wasn’t a problem either. Id be looking for concessions and ideally an eventual retrofit.

Default Whet is a “reasonable ADM” for a GTS now?

Thanks everyone who give me advise on the GTS allotment.

Perhaps I do need to adjust my expectations on having to pay above MSRP to get an allotment for a GTS cab this year.

one CA dealer I spoke with yesterday said he can almost guarantee me a June or July allotment for an ADM of $35k for a GTS cab. He wouldn’t budge off that.

Would appreciate thoughts on this. The GTS is super expensive as is. Adding a heavy ADM on top of MSRP along with CA taxes is going to make this a very expensive car $246k). Ouch. Still… I’ll pay an ADM to get it this year but I don’t want to be taken for a ride by the dealer and later regret this.

thanks

Do what feels right for you and don't be swayed by others opinions. Personally, I really appreciate an electric steering column, particularly due to the memory function. But it's not a huge deal.

Would it be a deal breaker for me in the current market? Probably not because allocations are so hard to come. But it also sounds like you're not in a rush since you're fine waiting for the 992.2.
There is no right answer here. Just a question of how important it is for you, and how fine you are waiting.

On my 2022 992 Carrera I elected to not go with the Premium package which includes this feature. Do not miss it at all and once I have set the wheel in place, I have never really moved it.
