The only thing with Costco tire installation is that Costco does not road force balance the tires (using a Hunter machine). They simply spin balance the tires.

Road force isn't always 100% necessary with top-quality tires since their sidewall behavior is typically quite uniform, but it doesn't hurt either.

Personally, I wouldn't install any high performance tires without the tires being road force balanced.

I can't find the Conti Sport Contact 7 on the US site. Not approved for sale here, yet?

I'll need new tires for the m5 soon -- seemed like a solid choice based on that (great) video.

The Bridgestone’s are great tires but my past experience has been that they’re heavy and A little “sluggish” on turn in and definitely need to be warmed up. That said, my OEM Pirelli’s are great and wouldn’t hesitate to get them as replacements if the PS4s weren’t available. I’ve personally not had the experience of requiring replacement of the rears in half the time compared to the fronts (981 and 991.2) so have replaced all 4 for those cars. With only approx 5k miles, time will tell with the Pirellis on my 992 …
He called it a BMW Supra twice and a Toyota Z(ed)4 once. I guess he's joking around???

The Supra shares a platform with the new Z4. He's joking, but only slightly.

After about 8,000 miles, I just swapped out the Pirelli's mine came with from the factory for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. The Pirelli's were fine, but the PS4S are just the best! (IMHO of course.)

I have experience with Costco tire purchase and installation on 3 vehicles now - one of them was our Porsche Macan with 19 inch wheels. In all situations the outcome was excellent - not a single mark or mar on any rim and everything done to my satisfaction (and I truly am OCD / picky). Would not hesitate at all to use Costco. Their process is well executed and their pricing (and inventory availability) can't be beat. Wouldn't ever consider using the dealer - they do a fraction of tire installs that Costco does. Experience matters in most things in life.

Succinct! I can't argue with that.

Costco does high volume. I’m sure they see a fair number of high dollar cars, and cars with large diameter or width tires. They do a really solid job.

The one time I went to an independent, two kids, who in my mind were high school dropouts, had no idea how to deal with a 19” tire. Trashed the rim, and then finally got their boss to help them out. The other 3 tires went fine. I was pretty upset but I knew there really was nobody to blame but myself. Could have made a fuss but it was clear nothing would have come from it.

Continental Tyre... Sport Contact 7 (SC7) do offer 245/35YR/20 255/35YR/20 & 305/30YR/21 315/30YR/21.
But these sizes won't be available anytime sooner after 3rd. quarter 2022.
P.S. I am one of the Conti-Tyre dealer in Taiwan.

i definitely can’t wait to get rid of these pirelli’s…. PS4S would be a superior tire. But is the new PS5 just that model or is there also going to be PS5S as the true successor to the PS4S?

In a recent visit to my dealership, my SA told me that many P Zero’s on Porsche’s come from Russia. No idea if that is accurate, or not, but I did find this from 2016:

I have P Zero on my 992. When they need to be replaced, I won’t be selecting Pirelli’s…that’s just my personal choice that has nothing to do with how good/poor they are.

The factories are owned by Pirelli, not Putin. They are suffering, as well as the people that work there, because of that maniac. Hopefully this all gets sorted soon, but punishing Pirelli hardly makes sense.

In your opinion, not mine.
