I have in my current build Guards Red Color Inlays for dashboard/console. Also Tach in Red even though pic does not show it below. I have not seen any color inlays in person. Does anyone have feedback on how they look in person vs the standard chrome? Any feedback on this spec?
Thank you.
I have seen it in a couple cars and it looks pretty bad. The car with GT silver looks fine because it just looks like aluminum trim. If you want some red highlights, do tach, chrono and seatbelts.
Personally I'd pass on the red inlays. If you really want them go for it. You could always have the trim wrapped in black or carbon fiber before you sell it and no one would be the wiser.
The standard trim is the best looking trim. The knurling matches the switches and other interior details. It's a nice place to rest your hand when you're futzing with the PCM,
I have a Guards Red GTS with Aerokit incoming and given how loud and "race car" the outside looks, I decided to go with a simple all black interior without any flourishes. I love the GTS exclusive brushed black aluminum, so I spec'd the standard GTS interior with extended leather and Race-Tex. Bright inlays look very "rice rocket" to my eyes, as that was a simple "mod" we used to do to our Civics and Integras back in the day - pull out the console surrounds, dash surround, AC vents, and spray them red or yellow. I would never custom-shame someone as I grew up in that world, but for a big boy car like a 911, I think an understated interior is the way to go. Now, if I did a cab or Targa, I *might* consider painted seat backs for a little pop (but not the inlays). Obviously just my two cents and I hope you go with whatever makes YOU happy!
In Canada anyway there is no other choice. Either glossy black or exterior colour. I also chose GT Silver inlays and think that's the only colour i'd do.
Looks great but unfortunately the aluminum inlay is not an option on the T, so would need to be GT silver (exterior colour) or the standard piano black.

You don't see many cars w/ color inlays because it generally looks bad... particularly in a bright color like guards red. I can see it being OK if you had silver or grey. In a color like guards red, it looks like a PT Cruiser.
Also, what's standard chrome? I don't see chrome in any Carrera T photos.
