Whats a soil pipe? We got some mice in my attic and after killing them all, now I'm going to have to figure out where they got in from.[/QUOTE]

That’s the vent and waste pipe for the toilet.

I have a couple of the Tire Rack branded wall mounts. The image is not mine but I have a similar set up.

I have 4 sets of those TR holders for winter/summer storage. Gets stuff up off the floor so you can still put things (think garbage bins) below them. Relatively easy with a ladder to get them up/down. I use said garbage bin as a go-between platform. My garage is almost 1300 sqft but you can NEVER have enough room!

Mine's 1,100 sqft so I ended up building a new one (800 sqft) for the Porsche (initially the RS5)

If you are going to store in the basement, keep them away from the vicinity of the furnace as it omits Ozone which is what degrades rubber and causes cracking.

I have the TireRack wall holder as well and used a (hunting) rope hoist with a brake on it. No problem at all.

I have the TR rack as well and it is a PIA to get the mounted wheels up there. That’s why I am going just with two sets of tires on the same wheels. It’s pretty easy to put the tires alone up.

That's what they say...but I was curious and picked up an ozone meter. No difference in reading between kitchen, living room and utility room (gas hydronic). Other items in the room include 6 zone pumps and an HRV.

Reading in all areas was no higher than the environmental minimum. No variance...so it doesn't matter to me whether I store the tires in the living room or in the utility room. (It does matter a lot to the other occupant of the house, so they're going in the utility room....)
