I’m happy to be in a financial situation to pay folks to do the things for me listed above as much to provide jobs as to take them off of my to-do list.

For me, it's just not worth my time. Heck, if I actually changed my own oil, based on my hourly rate, I would end up paying more than just having someone else do it, including the Porsche dealer and paying the Porsche tax. Plus, when I go to the dealer, I get a nice espresso (or two) and warm chocolate chip cookies.

If a person enjoys working on theirs cars, more power to you. But if you do, don't look down on those that don't. Many of us have better things to do with our time. Much better.
Ditto

Although I am not afraid to admit I am actually not competent enough to work on my cars.

I make a good living and pay competent people to do the work just like my Landscaper, Cleaning lady and Nanny.

I do not get it. I love the CL wheels on the new GTS.

love how it exposes the massive front calipers and makes it easy to clean the inside of the rims

Surprised they do not get more love.

But for me, it is not a false equivalency. Because if I had to change my own oil, it would be work for me.

Not going to pour oil on the fire and I don't change mine either because I never have though I have changed tires when a spare was available and I was younger, etc. I did read slwong's post as a bit condescending but I think there has been a follow up to that.

However on your false equivalency and the value of your time. I think you spend enough time on RL posting (and I would guess that isn't billable - if it is you are cheating whoever you bill) that the idea of wasting time on an oil change, well, how much time on a forum constitutes an oil change....

Back to the OP's original question about CL wheels. I love the way they look and I don't change tires myself anymore. That said, I'm not getting the CL on my GTS on order because I don't want to get stuck somewhere where there's no Porsche dealer or someone with these tools that you can't carry with you AND I'll be getting winter wheels that I don't want to pay extra to get the CL. So in the end I find them a PITA, although they do look sweet.

You can simplify that list and possibly get one of these? https://www.obsessedgarage.com/produ...ock-torque-gun

It's just very costly If I changed out my wheels often, I may bite the bullet and get one.

When I first saw the pics on the configurator, I didn't love them, but they've since grown on me. Then I was able to see them live and up close at the LA auto show and they looked gorgeous on the car.

I think all the reading I did about center lock wheels started to scare me into not getting them, but in reality, I won't ever change a tire myself. I think they could pose a problem for AAA or if you're somewhere more remote, but I might be warming up to that risk. No allocation = more time to dwell...

I guess none of you know how to plug a tire.

The chance of any shop having a tire in stock that fits your Porsche is slim if it needs replaced. Maybe if it’s a Porsche dealer, it might.

But to think if you’re driving on 75, have a blowout in the middle of nowhere, that You’re gonna be in better shape than me at the Walmart because you have five lugs, is funny.

Bad analogy.

I enjoy my time on RL.

I enjoy changing oil about as much as I enjoy having my ********* sucked out of the ******* by a puffer fish.

And, really, you have no idea about my billing structure, or how I get paid.

Collected my new daily Targa 4GTS this week, very impressed lots of power this time round and much improved Sports Exhaust sound over the C2S and Turbo S..
