Default Okay, the upgrades are coming for my 2021 C2S

I’m currently loitering at my local Porsche dealer, as I sometimes come up here just for the free coffee and quiet place to work

Looked in on the car and the backend is off.

So, the ECU has been shipped off to GIAC (this particular dealership prefers GIAC due to their more conservative approach), the BMC air filter is due to arrive today and then they will install the Soul Performance Non-valved exhaust with high-flow cats.

FYI…I know that there are terrific tunes out there that are likely just as reliable and offer more power. I just went this direction, since I have a long relationship with this dealership and they strongly recommended that I go with GIAC. I’m still open to trying a different one if I don’t feel the performance is to my liking.

So, I should be seeing, hearing and feeling some changes very soon.

I’ll give updates once work is completed (likely early next week).

Don't underestimate the GIAC tune! I had it on my 2019 Carrera T and that car was a rocket post-tuning! I initially went the GIAC route as I was told they had a lower torque file for manuals. Not sure if that was the case (the numbers didn't seem to back that up) but I can tell you that the 5k miles I did in that car with the tune, sould sport cats and BMC filter were spectacular!

Thats pretty cool that you have a dealer that recommends tunes and even helps you set them up. Wow!

When I considered tunes for my 992 I decided to go with M-Engineering as you can uninstall the tune and revert to 100% stock when it goes to the dealer. M claims the tune that was previously installed is undetectable by Porsche. That was very important to me. I had a similar tune (Cobb) with my GT-R and it worked great.

I’ve only heard great things about M-Engineering! I may eventually land there as well.

Yea it’s good to know the M-Eng tune was developed by the guy that used to work at Cobb

Step 1 is complete. ECU was shipped to Champion in FLA, so it'll likely be a few more business days to get it back.

I think that M-Engineering guys are great, but there’s no such thing as an undetectable tune.

My tech at the dealership just called and almost everything is complete. However, the BMC air filter was shipped via ground shipping, so there is a slight delay there.
This same tech has worked on my cars in the past, is a licensed racer and is hyper-conservative when it comes to aftermarket upgrades. Truthfully, he's not a big fan
of anything that isn't Porsche engineered.

So, I just received a call from him.

He said the exhaust sounds very good with minimal drone. Then, he proceeds to tell me that the car "goes like stink!". The excitement in his voice was great.
He's done plenty of these GIAC upgrades (even though he isn't a big fan of aftermarket tunes). He told me that the car is a rocket and drives really well.

So, for him to praise aftermarket upgrades is quite rare.

I'm excited to get it back early next week!
