So after hounding several dealers one came through and says he has an allocation for me! I am going into the dealership this afternoon to . . . well, I'm not exactly sure what we will (or what I should) do to formalize the transaction. I assume I will write a check for a deposit, but what else should I know? I will be trading my 2020 base cab, I assume in connection with delivery of the new vehicle. I am also planning on doing ED.

Have your build ready in the configurator so that your SA can upload it quickly the system. After that most folks agree to the terms (MSRP, trade, etc) and then sign the deal to lock in the vehicle.

By all means get EVERY commitment in writing. Goes without saying but you'd be amazed how many "surprises" happen associated with vehicle transactions. Most surprises involving money are not pleasant ones.

I used a CC for my deposit, they wanted $5k but I said I’ll give you $1k, and they said that’s fine.
