It's an easy install and the dealership will code out the auto-lift functionality for about $250.00. Supply constraints are here to stay for awhile, so waiting doesn't guarantee availability. Ask me how I know? Messing around and changing my allocations this year in hopes of the Aerokit becoming available is why I still haven't received my car (..it locks 1/15/22).
All good points. Agree that it is at best a crap shoot for future availability. BTW, I’m still waiting for mine as well it os officially due 1/28, but should be sooner as it os on Glovis Supreme, due in Benicia around New Year’s Day. At any rate, I can understand the decision OP has to make - not an easy one. Certainly would be horrible to wait 4-5 months for a MY23 allocation and still not get the AK, which is a distinct possibility…

Good luck! It won't be truly accepted until you go V200 with the AeroKit. As of now, it's just an order demand; likely V070.

There was another member here who had a freeze date and delivery date on the app for a recently added AeroKit, but about a week before it locked, his build came back with an error and he had to remove the AeroKit for the build to actually lock. Good luck to the two of you. Since your build dates are so far out, maybe things will be just fine.

Fair enough, and entirely possible. Fingers crossed.

Thanks all for the different opinions, they were all very helpful. I talked to the dealer today, his input is that the aerokit continues on stop sale. There was a brief period during November/December that some got through, but then it returned to stop sale. He doesn’t know when it might come back.

We talked about how it may be possible to add this later when parts are available, as some of you above had mentioned also.

I decided to proceed with the build. It’ll be a June build and anticipated August delivery.

Quite exciting I must say. I may look into ED, but that seems like it will be a whole new set of unclear variables to consider at this time.

June build means April or May lock....I'd check back in with your dealer right before it locks to see if Aerokit is available! In the meantime, we'll cross our fingers these annoying production restraints and constraints go away.

Yes, the dealer mentioned April lock. That’s what I was planning on doing. Thanks.

Agree with that...given the allocation issues you face and the market (am also in the same area and your dealer is probably mine too); I'd not wait around. They don't get many 992s in since I took delivery of mine last Nov 2021...I think Ive seen maybe four or five cars all already spoken for with 1 or 2 trade backs on a GT3 or something. Get what you can now. Aerokits can be added later as others have said.

Been following this discussion since I ordered my car in July 2020 and picked it up in Nov 2020 of my 992 S and the aerokit wait has cost a lot of folks a lot of time they could have spend enjoying their cars from what I've seen. A few seem to sneak/squeak thru but then it shuts down and the wait begins with NO idea from anyone why or when it will be available again. i'd take the car if I were you!

I think that is a very real one given not many FY21's got the AK after the hold/stop build was placed and I've seen very little '22 992 get it successfully added. Thinking to way for your late '22 car or a MY23 is a total crap shoot and you run the very real risk of no car within the next 12-24 mos...but that's the OPs choice and decision.

yup, imagine it’s the same dealer. They mentioned how many 911s they get a year, and it’s not many.

Correct and they have someone on the list for almost every one they get so can imagine IF they have an allocation for you for a car...it won't last long and one with an aero kit would/may be likely a LONG way out especially given its very limited availability in the production lines and their respective allocation numbers as a dealership. They seem to only get a handful of 992s and of various models when they do. Haven't see not ONE aerokit car come through but then again not there daily. But agree with what they've said to you so far.

We got similar taste and mindset. I was certain I would only get the car if I could spec it with the aerokit. I got lucky and somehow it was never a problem from the get go. Best of luck with your order. I honestly don’t understand why certain dealers and builds have no issue and others do. (It’s a MT)

Fantastic images. Looks great.

The dealer put in the aerokit build, which came back with a stop. There’s months to go before the build locks, so who knows what may change between now and then. If it ends up that I get the car without the aerokit, I’ll still be pretty happy.

Pinetree3, you and I have similar tastes as well. My ‘22 RY AK Coupe I somewhere between Benicia and my dealer, so only the production pic so far.

OP - I like your attitude and approach. I hope you end up happy in the end. It’s a long wait, but from what I hear on this forum, more than worth it!
