Default 992 base vs s exhaust note difference?

Hi everyone, I am going to order a 992 base or S but I am not sure what is really different between these two. Both of these cars have the same engine but the S is a lot faster because of the tune right? Does this change the exhaust note as well? For my use, I am 100% fine with the speed of the base (I honestly don't think I am going to track it anyways so I don't need the power of the S) but I do love loud cars with pops and bangs. I live in a state where I can just floor it on the highway without any traffic and no curved roads (I mostly enjoy the acceleration 0-60 over handling in curved roads). So I am leaning more towards the base over the S because of the price. However, I wanted to get your opinion on the sound of the 992 C2 with sport exhaust vs 992 C2S with sports exhaust. Is the S noticeably louder and pops more?

Also, this is my first Porsche and I would love some advice on my build! Here is the build code : PNM7R886

S has bigger turbos so it sounds ever so slightly different than the Base car. It’s more than a tune.

Yes, you get the pops and bangs in Sport mode, but it’s never obnoxious. There has been some anecdotal discussion that Porsche toned down the pops and bangs with the 2022 car.

The PSE is entirely worthwhile as it makes the right noises, plus, if later you go aftermarket, a PSE car is a better starting point.

If you want a loud exhaust note, I'm not sure if the Porsche is the best option (unless you get a gt3) Personally I like the sound of the lotus emira more.

Then maybe consider an AMG or BMW M car?

Neither the S or base sound that much different to 90% of the people, esp. in daily driving.

I am coming from AMG but Porsche 911 was my dream car and I dont mind having a quieter exhaust than my previous cars, I just wanted to see if the sports exhaust in the base would be noticeably quieter than the sport exhaust in the s that would make me want to get the s. Another option is to just get the base and put a custom exhaust after the warranty expires.

A catback exhaust should not cause issues with warranty, but you can always check with your dealer and confirm. I would not want to wait four years to put an exhaust on.

I've never done a cat back exhaust or any custom exhaust before. Should I not spend 2.5k on sport exhaust from porsche and just put a custom exhaust if it doesn't mess with warranty? Or do I still need to get the sport exhaust option.. Idk how it works

I haven’t driven an S with PSE, but I am VERY happy with the tone and loudness of my Base with PSE.

Yup. I owned a base 992. I loved it but the sound was subpar.

I will say this - prior to the 911 I owned a 2019 Base 718 Cayman with PSE. NO particulate exhaust filter on mine. PDK. In sport mode with PSE on it sounded phenomenal. And this was from the much maligned turbo 4. Cayman is a really fun car - if you've never driven one you owe it to yourself to try one. Very balanced. Likely the best sports car Porsche makes right now (sorry 911 community but in my opinion it's true). The 911 is a better car overall but there are things I miss about the Cayman. It's funny - I used to own Corvettes. In that world everyone debated the tail lights - here, everyone gets excited about exhaust tone. It's always something.
