Default Disappointing numbers from m engineering tune

Removed because mods edited my title. Which was "underwhelmed by the m engineering tune". Sorry. I'm not going to patronize this place if you are going to be biased towards sponsors

Where is the baseline graph so we can see the delta?

Mustang dynos read 10-12% lower than other dynos (dynojet) which most tuner typically use. But because dyno numbers are so dependent on tons of configurations and external factors, the only real way to measure increase from a tune is to compare the baseline stock run with the tune run. Otherwise the results are a bit meaningless.

FYI - I’m not an M engineering apologist or trying to justify anything, just sharing knowledge from a similar experience when I tuned an Evo X years ago and used a mustang dyno. Went back to stock and re ran the dyno numbers and the delta was huge.

Another, much less scientific, way to confirm is to run a draggy stock and then with the tune. 0-60 and 60-130 runs should show some differences.

Lastly, I assume you have all the supporting mods to run a stage two with the proper fuel, correct? Otherwise the DME might be pulling timing

Conditions change, dyno's are different. Had mine dyno'd back in the end of summer in Texas(98 F outside).

Did several pulls with zero fans on intercoolers and I was getting 471hp/433TQ on my second pull, third pull dropped to 441 and forth dropped to 400... engine was blistering hot due to zero airflow onto the intercoolers

First pull would of been higher for sure but my car (RWD) slipped so much on the rollers it didnt give any data plots. Then put some track bite on the rollers and 2&3runs were in line but HP dropped off a solid 40hp every single run after (run #4 only produced 400HP/434TQ) WHP

I've been patiently waiting for another Dyno to complete their build in the area with a much better airflow system that can be directed onto the intercoolers for a much better hopefully accurate readout

Have you tried contacting Charles? Again, no affiliation with m-engineering, but something has to be wrong here....looks like gains from a naturally aspirated engine?

Can you post dragging times please? Would be interested in seeing another point of comparison. Tks.

Sorry I hope I don't get crucified for not getting a baseline I just did not have the time for that today but I do plan on going back.

I have 200cell sport cats and an akrapovic exhaust.

Edit: I ordered a dragy to get a better idea of what the car is capable of

Their numbers are much higher...per their posts and site. Hopefully you can get this resolved as I plan on tuning thru Mitch. Many seem happy here. Best of luck, keep us posted please.

A more appropriate thread title would have been Questions about Tune Dyno Results. Kind of like Fire - Crowded Theater. You should always start by reaching out to them, or PMing them here, or PMing others who have posted in their thread to see if they have had issues. That's just my opinion.

That would be a disservice to the members in this forum that are considering this tune or haven't done a dyno yet. I don't believe M-engineering has anything to hide as they have been upfront and good to me so far so I believe it's fair to post this for visibility.

I'm far from an expert here but I've always heard that the delta from the baseline is the most important thing, since each Dyno may read different absolute numbers

^ Not to sidetrack, but even before a tune, that is the very next mod I would make to my car, if I ever get to it.....

Without a baseline pull for comparison this thread is pointless.

Is it pretty underwhelming on the butt dyno as well?

I plan on going this route too so watching this thread closely. I haven't heard anything bad about M-Engineering so I'm assuming there is a relatively easy explanation.

I agree with others too that perhaps a thread title edit is in order just until they've had a chance to help you. Looking fwd to seeing that 5XXhp number soon though.

No. Definitely feels faster but I have to quantify it with a dragy

I would have waited on a baseline before posting anything.
