992.2 should show up for 2025 Model Year correct? A little early to be testing a mid cycle refresh...my suspicion would be that this is the rumored hybrid powertrain which is why they have covered up the gauge cluster to hide the battery display.

Given 911 debut history, it would be very unusual to NOT see the 992.2 debut in fall 2022 as a 2023 model.

Here is the announcement dates for every 911 since the 996. There is a bit of a pattern:

996.1 - SEP97
996.2 - SEP01
997.1 - SEP04
997.2 - SEP08
991.1 - SEP11
991.2 - SEP15
992.1 - NOV18

The public debuts follow a very tight 4/3 year pattern.

I am nearly 100% sure those fogs are a disguise and not part of the design.

991.2 ended up being a 2017 model year though I think?

Yes - 991.2 was 2017.

I believe so. I did my best to clean up a part of the interior picture they posted.

Yep I was afraid of that... some inconsequential mods and so called upgrades and the eye sore they leave. I wonder if the delay in booting the PCM got worse...or they just did away with the HomeLink altogether... sigh...

Yup, but SOP for the 991.2 was early Spring 16 and not the usual changeover date during the summer. I believe 991.1 production ended very early 16.

It's not uncommon to have a facelift in different states of build. I've seen my fair share of development cars and it's not uncommon for an OEM to mix and match things.

The shaver isn’t going away. It helps them with crash testing and the same part is used to select PRND on their EVs.

They fixed PCM and Homelink for the '22. It's no longer an issue. Instant boot and Homelink works like it should - map homelink to the dash button and it's no less functional than the old mirror button (assuming you don't need multiple garages on homelink)

I recommend getting the aluminum upgrade shifter. Looks better, feels better.

What's unacceptable is that they let the current version out the door. A FIAT maybe, a Porsche inexcusable, IMHO of course.

So all the GTS models arriving in May and June are already “outdated” a month later
