Default GTS Exterior Help

Hey guys, looking for some feedback on my GTS build. I have about a month to finalize.

I've decided on Gentian Blue but am going back and forth between the gloss black exterior package (http://www.porsche-code.com/PNUV4B13) or blue side skirts with carbon mirrors (http://www.porsche-code.com/PN6DZ7H6), nice problems to have...

I like the gloss black but not sure if it goes with the blue, would look great on black or a lighter color I'm sure. That said, the other option is a bit plain and seems to show a lot of "plastic". Hard to tell from the pictures and no cars to see in person.

I know it's a personal preference, but would love to hear any thoughts.

Thanks for all the help, as a long time lurker this forum has been super helpful.

Painted side skirts, gloss black option is a waste of money imo. You can do the gloss black aftermarket.

Makes sense, thanks.

Any other thoughts on the gloss black with the Gentian Blue?

Congrats on your incoming GTS. The flavor of the GTS variant is the black contrast so I would recommend sticking with the "plastic" black side skirts. They're part of the look combined with the black rims, black badging, etc. and they don't cheapen the look of the vehicle whatsoever (just check out the carmine red vehicle Porsche uses on their website to promote the GTS). I'd definitely skip the gloss black and would even recommend skipping the carbon fiber mirrors but that's just me. If you want to do something special think about spending the money in the interior on something special, maybe some contrast stitching, etc. This way you can enjoy the upgrade while cruisinggggggggggggg

I find Gentian is a hard color to match up with black . Even the wheels which are satin black (which I love) just don't match as well, as the mesh platinum on the picture thread . Gloss black looks great on bright colors like Lava. It even lolls great on the Python . Personally I feel the thing that really throws gentian in amazing are yellow ceramic brakes . You already are in at 3500 (gloss) just for looks . The brakes give the looks and the upgrade . Check out how those monsters peek out on this Gt4 . I took the gloss off , added brakes and put a Gt steering wheel

Thanks for the feedback.

@yrralis1 I agree and wish non black was an option on the center locks, even if it looses a bit of it's "gts-ness". May need to reconsider the color...

I'd go matte; I don't like gloss black on anything but body paint.

The matte side skirts will also match better with the front lip, which is also matte, and the rear matte bits. Further, since these lips and skirts are most likely to take a beating, I like being able to swap them without a trip to the paint shop.

I also agree w chickenparm on the "carbon fiber" mirrors. There's no weight benefit from a 3 ounce fake plastic carbon pattern on the mirrors. It just looks silly. I don't like the carbon weave anywhere but under the paint of a proper carbon body part. Exposed weave is a 100% "no" for me. Especially on interiors, where - lol. Is anyone really thinking those little bits are carbon, even if real, are actually saving weight over the plastic alternative? Just silly.

Thankfully, I *love* the 992 GTS wheels - color and style. Center locks vs not has no impact for me, I don't swap my own wheels.

And 1 for gloss!

I keep trying to find a logical answer to a question of personal preference....

If I go gloss I would likely PPF. Thanks for all the input.

You can always have the trim vinyl wrapped in gloss or matt black after delivery at a nominal cost.

If you don’t like it simply peel it off.

Very true. I actually prefer the body colored side skirts, but some of the extra gloss bits look nice in pictures; wheels, front and back and so on.

I think I'm leaning towards not doing it, but the feedback is helpful.
