on a C8 corvette I had the side boomerangs and front and rear vents were body color and I think it made it look cleaner, on the 992 the rear valance in black just looks better and hides the road dirt, exhaust grime better ...just my opinion
I think what's confusing me on these photos is that the few photos I've seen of the painted front end had the slats in the side vents painted as well, which I REALLY didn't like. Are these photos from the configurator?
Porsche is intentional where it puts the black plastic. They most typically use it in places that are harms way, ie prone to chipping and/or road rash.
When you go for exterior color, or even gloss black, in these areas, consider PPF to protect it.
I'm a huge fan of this option with most (but not all) exterior colors. The mass of black plastic in the front and rear of the 992 has always looked cheap to my eye, and this is a more cost-effective alternative to the SportDesign package.

When I saw this pic previously, I assumed that the slats were painted but that you wouldn't actually see them unless the active aero system had closed them (as in the pic). If they are painted, I think that for the most part, you'd only see them open so all you'd really notice is the leading edges and they wouldn't look as they do in the pic.
I like the front painted... but the rear is too much silver. It needs to be broken up. Maybe leave the area around the muffle tips and the license plate black... and paint the intercooler exits and the plastic panel beside them silver?
