Default Future 911 Flat 6 with back seats?

Anyone know if there are possibilities for a future 911 model that will have a non turbo engine but with back seats? Hope the hybrid would matted to the GT3 engine but with back seats.

It was rumored that we would see a 992 GT3 with back seats, but that car hasn’t materialized. It’s doubtful that Porsche will put forth the engineering effort. The GT3’s NA engine is made possible from regulatory perspective by Taycan sales.

Porsche has gone on record saying that, other than the GT3, every 911 will be turbocharged. Given the performance of the 992, nobody is complaining.

You’re not going to see a lot of new internal combustion engine development from Porsche. They’re also not interested in selling more GT3s due to fleet CO2 output and emissions regulations.

It would appear that the 911 2+2 NA engine ship has sailed. If you want one, you’ll have to get a used 991.1 or earlier.

or you could build a custom backseat in the back of a 992 gt3. I think it’s crazy but there are some shops that are specializing in it.

More likely that Tesla starts making an ICE car.

Doubtful that any shop would take this on for liability reasons. The 997.1 GT3 cars still had the holes and bracket support for rear seats. There were a handful of folks that installed seats back there and Porsche responded by removing all of that support with the 997.2 onward. It’s no bolt on affair.

If you got into an accident with a GT3 modified to have rear seats, your insurance company could well deny the claim due to the safety modifications necessary — even if no one was occupying the back seats at the time of the crash. The GT3 is a two seat car.

Searching on Google, I couldn’t find a shop offering to do this as a modification in the United States. So, if there’s indeed some shop specializing in this, please share — I am curious just out of morbid curiosity.

While I agree that it would be difficult, for enough money, someone is always willing to do the labor.

Just look at the GT3 RS that was modified to have a MT.

We're lucky to get an ICE 911 beyond the 992 at all...
