Has anyone changed the OEM blades yet. How often. Instructions how to remove and replace?

Do you have to buy OEM from Porsche, or are there aftermarket blades that work?

Not a direct answer to your question but perhaps some insight. I purchased a 2018 Macan new - it's getting ready to go into its 4th winter in Iowa. Lots of winter wiper blade use - snow, sleet, ice, freezing rain, etc. It's our daily driver with 34,000 miles. Still on the original Porsche wiper blades. I will like replace the blades soon / prior to winter. No doubt I will go with Porsche / factory blades again. Expensive - but they've lasted well and perform fantastically.

I like to replace my wiper blades each year and did so at the dealer service interval (OEM blades, my cost). I don't like any streaking and wiper blades rubber wears over time, regardless of how many miles driven.

If your vehicle is a daily driver and driven in all weather conditions, wiper blade performance is falling off after about six months at a year they still wipe but the performance is greatly diminished. You may think they work ok but if you put a new set on you will notice the difference for sure. The biggest killer of wiper blade performance is ice and snow.

A cursory look at a 992 3 days ago made me think the blades were made by Bosch no?

Yes, blades are made by Bosch. You can buy or order replacements at almost any national auto parts store. There is nothing special about OEM Porsche wiper blades, except the price. Replacement instructions are on the box. Very simple DIY.

Key off, push down on the wiper stalk and the arms will move to service position. It's in the manual.
I plan to buy blades at Costco. Here on the east coast, you have to change them yearly.

My Costco sells only Goodyear blades. I use them on my Lexus, but don't know if they will fit 992. Also very clunky looking.

Remarkably, from my dealer, Mercedes wiper blades are cheaper than the aftermarket options, plus, no fussy adapter nonsense that you typically find from retail auto parts store blades.
A quick Google search shows that the Porsche OE replacement set (992-955-425-Y) is going for $50-58 online, which appears to be a bit cheaper than buying left/right separate Bosch wipers at $30-40 ea.

At almost 30k miles, the wiper blades on my 992C4S are still fine, but when they need to be replaced, I'm inclined to go with another Porsche set if that's the cheaper option.

...and sitting parked outside at the office will do them in with UV rays.

Ooops. Costco wiper blades are Michelin, not Goodyear. Still clunky looking, even if they fit.

We recently had the first snow of my car's second winter and the passenger side wiper is not clearing well and streaking so I'm going to replace the wiper blades. Aside from the OEM Bosch and the Michelins from Costco referenced in the post above does anyone use RainX or some other specialty wiper blades?

what's interesting is that for the Icon they say it's the same size for driver and passenger side, never noticed that.
