Hi, all. I am looking to place an order for a 911 4S. I am trying to chose the color. I am not really opinionated about the color. They all look good to me. Is there a traditional Porsche color, like red for Ferrari and yellow for Lambos? I am thinking maybe white, but not sure.

Color is a personal choice, everyone is going to have their own opinion. I went with Guards Red, I like it but not for everyone. There doesn't seem to be a color that defines a Porsche as with Ferrari.
IMHO. The most tradition of the current colors are Guards Red and Black. Racing Yellow and Agate Grey metallic are also very close to other Porsche "traditional" yellows/greys. Python Green and GT Silver are also close.
The current whites are not that close to old time whites. The older whites where warmer. But white is white so.....

FWIW, Porsche chose these for their “tournament of colors” twitter contest to represent the classic Porsche colors. At this point, GT Silver has to be consider a classic as well. White is a traditional German racing color. Certain colors cue memories of certain generations. Arena Red is iconic for the 993, Guards Red for the 930, 924, 944.
Just as a reference, historic auto racing colors are: Germany, white or silver; Italy, red; British, green; French blue; American white with blue. So classic Porsche colors are silver or white. All Porsche race cars come from the factory in white. I have had two white 911's (one a race car) and just ordered a GT silver GTS.
Curious of this as well. Like Subaru STIs/WRXs with their blue, Mazda Miatas with their red. What would be the single color that associates with Porsche?

This sort of depends on which model.
Porsche's first race cars were mostly silver but then over time they became white.
Model specific color association for me:
911 - Guards Red
Carrera GT - GT Silver
356 - Ivory White
944 - Guards Red
Boxster - Silver
908 - White
904 - Silver
917 - Gulf Blue
928 - Gold
I believe GT Silver with red or black/red interior is the traditional Porsche color combo. But if you like them all, you could save a few dollars and get one of the free colors and go from there. That will help focus your build and also help determine wheel color and interior etc.
Thank you all. I am thinking of white with the full red interior. I see there are two options - regular stitching (looks like in the same color as the leather) and white/chalk stitching. I am new to the whole stitching concept. Which one is preferable? I also see the seat belts can be had in the red color - is that over the top too much of the same color? Leave them black?

This is exactly my spec. Carrara white and full bordeaux interior. Absolutely amazing. Interior with Chalk stitching looks better with white exterior. I put chalk seatbelts and white dial. If you ask for most classic 911 colour, white is the answer. Look at the most iconic Porsche race cars, but 992 looks sooo beautiful in lot of colours
