Default Back seat in Cab during cooler weather

For those Cab owners out there, does anyone have any products they like to keep rear seat passengers warm with the top down? Things like heated blankets, heated seat covers, etc. I keep a fleece blanket back there now, but it's starting to get cooler here in Ohio, and whining kids drowns out the sound of the engine

Thanks for any suggestions or reviews of products you've tried.

I hate to state the obvious, but how about NOT driving with the top down?

Growing up, my dad was the type who would drive his convertible with the top down well into the Fall, close to freezing temperatures (sometimes even below).

His rationale was that it's perfectly fine as long as we blast the heat since it was free heat from the engine anyway, and we had heated seats.

Alas, now I am gifting him yet another convertible .

The top down in cool weather is great in the front seats where you can feel the heated air and the seats are heated. But it’s much colder in the rear seats, hence my questions. If anyone has any products they’ve found to help with this, please share!

Blankets. Make the kids use a blanket and it will leave them with fun/fond memories.

I agree...blankets and a dose of STFU. I'm kidding about yelling at the kids.

Driving top down is fun no matter what the weather is and as a kid I used to LOVE it, no matter what the weather.

As a cab owner I hate to sound like a Debbie Downer, but kids sometimes don’t do a good job verbalizing how they are feeling or if they are in danger.

A while back I took them out on a colder day with the top open, they were in the back. I had the heat on and the heated seats, we were all wearing coats. But after a while of spirited driving, I looked back and they were positively shivering.

I knew it was too cold for them and I closed the top.

Don’t underestimate the chilling effect of those fast and cold winds when you are driving. And if the kids are cold then they aren’t having as much fun as you are. Not worth it. It’s best to keep the top up on those chillier days. I know I don’t want my kids to suffer just for my fun. And when we are driving with the top down, and one of my kids says “Dad can we put the top up?” I never question them for a second. I put the top up right there and then.

Hypothermia is no joke.
