Performance modification roll call
Is the volume change with just the sport cats alone not that significant? As I recall there were a couple folks on here who just couldn’t stomach how loud the cold start was with sport cats and aftermarket exhaust combined. @BIGWORM I think you were in this camp yes?
My 992 C2S is plenty fast for me, but I am finding myself lusting after the louder exhaust and lightweight package of the new GTS. Hopeful that Soul Cats will help provide that extra bit of aural engagement I’m looking for.

Next time around (if and when I come back) I will not get sport cats. Drop in filters and PSE is good enough for me. That or I would get a different exhaust but keep the stock cats.
Sport cats with Akrapovic system was the most obnoxious cold start I have ever heard. It beats any teenagers loud fart cannon exhaust on a honda any day of the week. Remove the sport cats and the akrapovic cold start was perfectly normal. The only exhaust whos cold start DOES NOT seem to be affected by sports cats is the PSE. There might be others that work fine with sport cats. But the Akrapovic was super obnoxious. And while I love the guys at Soul. I was told the Soul system with sport cats was also way too loud on cold start too.

I did my sport cats and drop in filters at the same time. I could feel a slight difference in throttle response with both of those items yes. But it wasnt drastic like OMG, wow! But it did change is slightly yes. As I mentioned. If and when I come back to Porsche. I will probably skip those. Keep in mind, I had them on both of my 991.2's and both of my 992's. The 992 didn't benefit from them nearly as much as the 991.2's models did. But it was enough to notice. But I think I would go straight to exhaust next time and not mess with emissions. While my dealer was totally cool with them. And I never once had any issues with mine. I would hate for something to break internally (Porsches fault) and them have an easy escape plan out pointing blame at my sport cats. And since Ive had TWO 2020 911's bought back, I am gun shy to mess with Porsche warranty moving forward. I have lost all faith in Porsche quality.
Did the M-engineering flash tune on my 2020 pdk C2S a couple weeks ago. In short, its awesome. Also have Sprint dry performance air filters to go with the stg 1 tune on 93 RON.
I have brand new fabspeed catless downpipes sitting in the garage for the past few months, still debating on whether I should install them and retune to stg 2 (+25 more hp, but mainly for sound with PSE), or go the high flow sport cats route instead.

Modifying the car without first modifying the monkey behind the wheel is essentially wiping your *** with Benjamins if what you are after is "performance" gains.
Now, if you simply want to modify the car for looks or sound, then yeah, go for it. But those mods are not performance mods.

Because 99% of the general public (short of some of the Porsche Works drivers and some semi-pros) cannot even come close to 7/10 of the stock 911, much less 10/10.

Yes it maybe somewhat true if your after tenths of a second at Sebring. But even if you don't track your car, adding exhaust and a tune greatly improves the fun factor for everyday driving to work or fun weekend backroad stints as well. Dropping the hammer on a nice back road on a Sunday morning is a blast, especially with 550 WHP in a tuned 911S. No need to be Andretti for that.
This has been the go to response in Porsche forums for as long as I have been involved with them. "Driver Mod" or "Buy a Turbo S"
