Default Winter tires and wheels

Has anyone used the 19/20s offered by Porsche? If so, what tires did you get with them? I assume there's a setting the allows for switching to these sizes from the 20/21s in the PCM?
Anyone unhappy they did it this way? I usually get base OEM wheels and put winters on them after buying another set of wheels for summer, but those 21" rear winter tires are almost $800 each on Tire Rack.
Thanks.

Yes, I run with the 19/20" Porsche winter wheel set and have two seasons on them. Mine came with the Continental WinterContact tires, which have been pretty great, delivering plenty of stick on cold wet or dry roads, plus they do well on snow. With regards to the PCM, there are settings for both wheel size and type of tire.
Fun fact: Porsche's winter wheel sets use different offsets than their standard wheels to bring the wheels slightly more inboard. This is by design to help keep winter road debris (rocks, salt, etc) within the wheel wells. It's pretty clever and better than simply just using a set of base wheels.

I couldn't be happier with the winter wheel set. Given the amount and style of driving that I do, this will probably be the last season with these tires before I have to replace them.

One thing to note, the Porsche winter wheel sets do not come with center caps. You have to order them separately.

Great answer; thanks! Given the costs in general, their pricing when ordering the car isn't horrible. Tire Rack's 21" Alpins and Sottozeros are both in the low $700s before sales tax per tire.
Interesting about the offsets. Yes, clever.

That's weird - I did a search before posting the topic and this didn't come up.

I have the Porsche OE 19/20 winter wheels/tires and have a full winter on them. I received the (then) new Pirelli Pzero Winter tires and have been pretty happy with them, especially the dry road/cold temperature performance.
