I love my 4way+ss. In other cars I found that just more adjustments didn’t make the seat better just harder to figure out what I wanted. I just need the right tilt, height and distance from wheel.

I'm also realistic that this car won't see much if any track time and I'd maybe change to a lighter sport + seat if it would. This 992 for me will be my daily driver so 14 ways fit the bill perfectly and make the back seat (which will see use with kiddos) a bit less claustrophobic
I'm 5'11 165lbs and I had heard that the 992 14 way was actually more like the 18 way 991 seat and the difference between the 2 was not as noticeable as it had been on the 991.

Luckily my SA had some cars in February and I was able to sit in both the 14 and 18 way seats and I really appreciated how the extra leg and shoulder bolsters gave me a better fit. Once I sat in both I was in for the 18 ways. I'm sure the others would have worked but I definitely could feel the difference.

I also got the 930 leather package on my deviated centers and I personally think the 930 leather package looks better on the 18 way/SS+ seats than it does on the 14 way/SS because of the contours of the seat.

Excuse the dirty floor mats.

Base 4-way owner here. I find them very comfortable. I tried out the 18 ways and base 4 ways at the dealer. They both felt comfortable in different ways...4 ways feeling more unconfined in the shoulder area. SA advised to go with the cheaper option if they both felt fine. I don’t regret it at all. I did spring for full leather and ventilation.

I had 18-way in my 981 GT4 and they were very good. I found that with the multiple adjustments they could be made to fit a wide range including me, my slender 5’6” spouse with the bolsters cinched up or opened up for my thick 6’1” son.

In my 992 C4S I have the 4-way SS+ and I’m quite pleased with them. I’m chunkier than I’d like to be at 5’8”, 220 and they fit me well. I have short femurs so do not miss the bolster extensions. I have great side support without being pinched and my spouse finds them comfortable too. A very well designed, simple seat. I can feel the lumbar support and have no discomfort being in the seat for 3 hours non-stop.

A tough choice. I like the simplicity and light weight of the 4-ways and the 18-way is great too. If you can part with the coin I’m thinking you won’t regret the 18-ways. That said, not once have I felt compromised by the simpler 4-way SS+.

Regarding tilt adjust on the 4-way bench, I understand it can be done mechanically at the mounts, so if you are compelled to raise the front, it can be done, just not automatically.

Happy shopping! You’re going to love it any way you go.

It was PEC LA, in Carson. My inseam is also 34 inches.

Hmmm...optimizing the tilt mechanically once and for all is a very attractive idea. Can anyone confirm that is a possibility with the 4 way sport plus seats?

Default photos some of you might find helpful

18 way seat with seat pan fully extended The colors are off because I had to adjust the contrast a lot, to be able to see the seat pan which was previously invisible. For long drives, this seems awfully comfy!

4-way sport plus

4-way sport plus. my impression at the time is that on a long drive with the thigh not well supported, and more concentrated pressure on the buttocks that it might become uncomfortable. Pure conjecture though.

I'm having a hard time picturing exactly where that piece of plastic is. I didn't feel it when I sat in the 18 ways this week. Maybe it takes more time in the seat to feel this issue.

Good point about the seat pan. I have long legs and the extension is very helpful in my other cars in reducing pressure points. I opted for the 4 way seats because I went for the lightest weight build possible. But for pure comfort, it is hard to argue that more adjustment is not better.

This is my issue. I am 6ft, 179#. When I sit in the 18 way my shoulders felt uncomfortable on the pads. My arm length is usually longer than the corresponding neck and waist if getting a button down shirt so if that is a problem you have, definitely try out the seat first. Need to decide 14w vs base 4w. Damn mirror dip is important to me can't believe that isn't just on the car. My m2c has that.

For me also it is the lumbar that I am after - if I could get that on it's own that would do. I'm going for the 14 way as the shoulder support on the SS seats was too pronounced for me.

I have 18 ways and love them. My wife drives my car occasionally and having the memory seats is a god send (I'm 6'2" and she's 5'5" and she likes her seat to be raised much higher and closer). It took me weeks to find the right driving position so I don't get back pain. I have my thigh rest extended fully and had to mess around with backrest angle, seat angle, and lumbar and the 2 bolster adjustments.

There are other threads on the forum about seat choice. Seating is personal and individual, so the best forum advice I saw was to sit in as many variations as possible. Then as now only non-911s are on the lot to try out. After uncomfortable ventilated 2-ways in the Cayman, I selected 18-way for the 911, but without the stiffer ventilation channels. Very comfortable, but a personal choice.

Presumably he said 'the seats' are the most comfortable as opposed to 'the 18 way' seats? So could he have said the same thing if you had 4 way?

Or are you saying the seats themselves are actually different visually and build wise (not electronics) which makes them more comfortable?

I'm starting to think twice about my choice now based on responses.
