Smile We Have Our Delivery Package

We went to the dealer today, Porsche Burlington, to do the paperwork for our 992 C2S for European Delivery in September. Our timing was apparently perfect. We ordered the car in June, it was built on July 22. We're getting delivery right after the August shutdown.
So, we got a pen, and a badge:

Is the badge supposed to mount on the rear deck lid? If so, there's no instructions although hardware was included.
I have a choice not to have the front bumper drilled for a licence plate. Our state here requires a front plate. Does anyone have experience using a tow-hook plate mount? Is that available?
The Quick Start guide for the car says that Start/Stop is enabled whenever the car is re-started. I've read here in one thread that it's disabled in Sport Mode. We're buying a manual transmission. What's the down side of keeping the car in sport mode? Is it a stiffer ride?

We get a factory tour. I don't think I'll be oversleeping.

We've done Southern Germany, the middle of Germany from Leipzig to Strasbourg, Austria, and Northern Italy before in rental cars, but we're planning to start out this trip in Switzerland and the French Alps. I'm planning to take the back roads of France, COVID permitting. We also have 17 days. I want to get to the Bordeaux wine country, an area neither my wife nor I have seen.

The dealer had NO new 911's in stock. In fact, they just opened a new show room and the only 911's present were Herb Chambers' personal cars, a 1988 Slantnose, and a 2019 Exclusiv, I'm not sure what it's called, the one with carbon fibre hood and yellow gold color. Both with ridiculously high prices.
Salesman said it's a six-month wait right now.

There are a number of options for not drilling the bumper for your front license plate. Depending on whether or not you ordered Automatic Cruise Control (AOC) the choices become slightly more limited, but not by much. Options include: RHO-Plate, Skene Design, Carbonio, and Sto-N-Sho.

The Stop/Start function is automatically reset every time the car is shut off. The car will always restart in the "Normal" mode with the Stop/Start function active. You WILL need to push a button or twist the Mode Dial every time you start the car to avoid this. I have placed the Stop/Start icon on my main PCM Screen and I also have my "Individual" mode programed as the "Normal" mode but with the Stop/Start function disabled. The picture below shows how my main PCM Screen looks with the Stop/Start icon. I've circled it in yellow.

@Bluehighways Helpful advice. Thanks.
Did not order ACC. Had a rental Toyota that had it. Didn't think it was that useful for me. I'm not doing a daily commute in freeway traffic.

I'm jealous.... mostly because I was planning on a late september 2021 euro delivery this year but had to ruin it all with my wife getting pregnant We've had so much fun on ED trips that she won't let me go without her so I've put it off until next year. Post up pics though and have an awesome trip.

What is the front plate enforcement like in MA? I have only ever lived in states that require front plates and I have never once mounted a front plate on any car I own. Most states don't bother enforcing and the one that I experienced that did (Ohio), the only enforcement is for street parking but they will accept a loose plate on the dashboard so it's pretty easy to keep one in the rear under the pax floor mats and throw it on the dash when you street park.

There are no additional fees. But you go through your local dealer. You put an order in on your car and you fill in some forms. Pick your delivery date. Ours was ninety days out. You get one night hotel stay and two taxi vouchers. You can drop off the car in Leipzig or Sindelfingen for no extra charge, or elsewhere for more $$. Some of the alternate locations are quite expensive, like Switzerland. (1,500 euros) Insurance covers you for sixteen days. I was told an extra week would be very expensive.

This does not sound like good advice to me. I don't feel like getting a ticket just to test the enforcement. The states where I've lived do enforce the requirement, except PA which did not have it.
In Massachusetts there's no specific requirement as to how you attach the plate; it just has to be "in front". I'm really thinking of just sticking the plate on with this. I think I even have some of this tape in my garage. It will come off with gentle heat from a heat gun.
As I said, if the plate falls off, a replacement is only $10. But this stuff is made for attaching trim, so the hold is pretty strong.
