Yes, Night Vision Works
I drove the C4S after dark for the first time tonight and thought I'd try out the Night Vision. It's described as outlining pedestrians and wildlife in yellow and critically close pedestrians in red. We live in the country. The woods and crops can be less than 15 feet from the road. About a mile from home a buck rocketed out of the trees in such an area, about 50 feet ahead of us. I got a loud beep, a deer outlined in red (not yellow) and a red circle around the screen. Impressive braking performance followed. I'm one of the few among friends and family who has not yet smacked a deer. It's not an inexpensive option. But, living in deer country I'm happy I ticked the box.
Amazing story! I was thinking of checking it myself but I don't live in the country, just the suburbs. Still, if it wasn't so expensive I would definitely check it off. Nicely done.

Mr X,
I’m in the same category as you…finally used it for the first time about a week ago. I was thoroughly impressed how the system identified and then highlighted two people walking along the side of the road at night. It was pitch dark and they were wearing dark clothing - fools. I will definitely use this feature at night in the country or ‘burbs.

Good question. I have the MT, so no ACC as with PDK. I think the Warning and Brake Assist system is standard on all 992s, and it's also tied into Night Vision. The website says it gives a visual and auditory warning for cars, pedestrians and cyclists, but doesn't mention deer. I definitely got warned on the NV screen and stomped on the brakes. These things happen so fast it's hard to tell, but I think I beat the car to the brakes.
I thought Nick Murray's review of Night View was inaccurate. You don't have to keep an eye on the NV field in the instrument cluster. If there's an alert, yellow or red pops onto NV screen and that alone is enough to catch your attention.

IMO, Murray is mostly an entertainer/ opinionator. I found many of the options he “reviewed”, to either be misleading, or flat out wrong….in my opinion. Nevertheless, some of his comments on options I had overlooked, to he helpful.
