I’m impressed - seems manual transmission preferences hold their own even with the younger drivers. Real enthusiasts here.

 

 

Seems like the youngest drivers prefer the PDK possibly because they can't drive manuals, and the oldest drivers prefer the PDK for ease of use, and all the middle to slightly older ground the scales tip just in favor of the manual.

This poll though should maybe not include any Turbo, Turbo S, Targa, base C2 and C4 owners as they don't have a transmission choice? then again, maybe those who would pick the PDK picked those trims b/c they weren't limited, whereas C2S, C4S, and Targa 4S owners may have had to choose their trim to get their preferred number of pedals.

I think the type of driving you do has much more influence on the transmission than the age of the driver. As an example, I prefer MT but, as a DD, in a heavy traffic area, I chose PDK. If it was a weekend car only, I would have selected MT. Those people who have more opportunity to get out and drive back roads without the drudgery of stop and go traffic on a daily basis are much more likely to chose MT. Of course, this being an enthusiast forum will also skew the results. It is an interesting premise but I'm not sure that age alone is a determining factor.
