MSRP no problem
were you able to actually spec and order your car? or did you just put down a deposit to spec one at a later time?

Yes
I was able to configure the car, dealer got it, the manufacturer will make it base on Porsche code.
I can still change options / colour before the allocation confirmed.

Porsche Centre Vancouver

I don't know the slot number, but the rep said I am very first in the Gts queue.

I believe that the other queues of Turbos, GT3s, Carreras are much longer.

Nice. My first Porsche too. I was looking for a 991.2 GTS, but then the market went crazy. It became much harder to find the desirable spec, and if you can find them, they are priced high enough where it just made sense to spend a bit more on the exact car + get the benefits of the 992. I am coming from a modified c7 Z06 that I just sold and I could not be more excited about it. Just have to be patient!

First Porsche (hopefully) here too. I also looked at a 991.2 GTS at the local dealer but at $140k it made sense to wait for the 992. Coming from an F80 M3 CS…that I’m actually having a hard time letting go of…

Funny, I just sold my 2008 Z06 that I owned for 10 years and made 1250whp. Got decent money and wanted to get something that handled and drove better and that will hold value better. Wanted one forever.

I really wanted the 2020 M2 CS as a more reasonable step before going all the way to a new 911, but couldn’t get one and prices are insane! Love the M3 CS. Great car and I can imagine your difficulty getting rid of it.

Yea - I had the same trouble with my Z06. It was tough to let it go knowing I am going to be waiting until next year. However I made out pretty good on the sale which justified the cost of the GTS interior package and the CF roof...lol

Until you get a commission/V200 number, your allocation is not confirmed yet. Even after the allocation is confirmed, you still have some time to change your configuration before your order locks. Best of luck, I have an allocation (placed in May for October build) for my C2S MT also from Porsche Centre Vancouver, but my production is delayed until Nov/Dec so car won't arrive until next year unfortunately. My dad placed a deposit 2 weeks after me and is still waiting for an allocation...

Same position here only it will be Porsche #4 for me. I wish I would have purchased a 911 before all this pricing nonsense took over but quite honestly who knew or would have expected this situation. Guys paying 20 large over for a new 911 or MSRP on a 2 year old model at this point hopefully understand that they are never going to recover any of those dollars on resale down the road when these vehicles are back in full production. Most of us are not willing to be bent over even when we are more than able to afford this gouging and yes we all know about supply, demand, blah, blah, blah. Oh well, it won't last forever. Now I wish I would have kept my Z06 a while longer.

I see.

Thank you for sharing , it's a long journey .

I guess Porsche Vancouver is a big and reputable dealer , it will be fine.

Just talked to my dealer. They got their July allocations and apparently only one was for a GTS…he said their next round wouldn’t be until October for 2022 Q1 allocations…guess I’ll be waiting a while.
