I have my 992 coupe, and have put my name down with both local dealers for a 992 Targa 4S when one comes available. Not that they have a specific idea, they have told me likely I could get an allocation next spring.

However, they are very specifically keen on getting me to sell them my 992 4S coupe (Manual Transmission) to them right now while I wait for an allocation :-)

I am aware of an allocation with a freeze date in September, so can be customized. PM if interested.

Hello All,
I live in California and have fallen in love with the Targa 4s as I'm renting one through Porsche drive from DTLA Porsche. I'm ready to pull a trigger on one of these cars but any advice or dealerships I can call to see how I can get one. Today a dealership told me 40k ADM on a targa 4 GTS. I told them I don't want a gts but that's crazy. For those who have ordered the Targa 4s, thoughts on how I should go about this. I find it odd that you can't build a car for MSRP as the dealership isn't technically owning the car at any point. It's been frustrating.

Also here's the build code. not sure if there are must have options I should add or options I should remove.
I ordered November 2020 and it took until March2021 until I got firm allocation. I sent emails to many GM of dealers in my area. Got lots of nothing until one came through. It takes some work but reach out. No ADM. And yes, it was all worth it. I love my car. 2021 Targa 4s. The smiles on the way to work are priceless.

This was almost a year ago. I ended up trading my 2020 992 C4S coupe for a 2022 Targa 4S allocation (traded in end of July last year) Allocation a week or so later early august, Car Delivered mid December. No ADM.

Might as well have been June 1981 - things have changed that much in the last 6-9 months.

I have put my name on the list for a Targa 4s at both my local dealers. One wants a $25k ADM and told me there's a "good chance" I might get it in time for next summer. The other told me they'd just put me on the list but had "no idea" when I might get an allocation. My goal is to take delivery down at PECLA in the spring...around the time of my 40th birthday in April, so I can order from any dealer that can send the car there. If anyone has any leads on a dealer who might actually be able to get me a commission number this year, I'd love to hear them.

Folks have posted here that they have “suspended” PECLA for all but Turbos and GT cars (not GTS). I think that is accurate and still the case, but cannot confirm with any first hand knowledge.
