992 Fabric Options
Hello all! I'm a high end plastics lover (Who doesn't love that new car plastic smell?!). Currently own a 981 cayman with full leather and deviated stitching.
I'm looking at a base or S trim (PDK) with some of the performance goodies. My local dealer has promised an allocation in early 2022. I have actually seen the base trim in the 992 and fell in love! I'm personally not a big fan of leather. Its soft and relatively easy to clean but a bit too delicate for my tastes! My favorite materials are fabric then plastics then vinyl with leather being my least favorite. High quality plastics and fabric to me look much more futuristic. Industrial design, especially electronics seem to be going that way.
The conflict comes in from the fact that the sportex seats come w/ full leather interior while the base trim w/ 18 way has no option for fabric. The only other car that had the base interior + fabric was the 991.2 Carrera T.
Requirements:
Am I the only one who likes high quality plastics over leather?!

Requirements:
- Love fabric, plastic dashboard on the 992. On the 991.2, the base interior, it was nowhere near as nice!
- Would like some of the performance goodies usually only reserved for the T or S: PTV+, RAS. Then again waiting sucks!

You're not the only one who isn't a fan of leather. I really like the Sport-Tex seats but they only come with leather "upgrade" which removes the slick "base" interior and puts stitched cow on the dash and elsewhere. I have the standard interior and the 18-way seats (leather) which is fine, but if 18-ways with Sport-Tex were available I'd have ordered them in a heartbeat. I wouldn't be holding my breath for a 992.1 T, and even if it does arrive it may not have Sport-Tex without leather as an option and will CERTAINLY have the same turbo 6 as in the rest of the 992 lineup (no way they'd put the NA 4.0 in the 992). You want a NA 992, you gotta pony up for a GT3. BTW, you can get PTV+ on a C4

I as well wanted the sport-tex seats but didn't want full leather.

Do what you have to in order to get the sport-tex. They are awesome.

I think I just might. The Premium package is a great value but the sport-tex look super special! I might just do it.
Also agree re: Sport-tex + standard interior. Here's my ideal build. I'm not looking for a NA motor actually, the turbo 3l is more than fine for me. This is coming from a 981 GT4 owner.
