They own Goodrich, not Goodyear

Admittedly I am a fan of the Michelin Pilot 4S and Sport Cup 2, but to answer your question, the Goodyears are VERY good, as are the Pirelli PZero PZ4s. You likely will NOT be disappointed.

I am no tire expert nor am I an experienced Porsche owner but my 2020 C2S came with Goodyears and I recently replaced rears with the same. Tuesday on track the car was amazing. I don’t have a point of comparison but I can tell you that in the novice group I was never passed and was lapping others (Vetts, GT350, Lotus). The car blew my mind. Whatever my deficiencies are as a driver, and they are many, the car made up for in straights and in curves. I am blown away by this car. Oh yeah, the Goodyears were great.

While I am not a fan of Pirelli tires, I must admit I like the Pirelli PZero PZ4s that came with the car pretty well. So my question is: Has anyone gone from the Goodyear tires to Pirelli's or vice versa that would like to comment on what they thought? Thanks.

i think this hate began with that one reviewer that ****s all over the goodyears, but without any substantiation. enjoy the car, ignore the nonsense.

Given that this is my second 911 after almost 10 years with very little memory of the previous car, (previous car had Pirellis) I cannot comment on anything else but I agree that the wet traction of Goodyears are not good after some wear.

As it's been noted, by many actual owners, the OEM Goodyears and Pirellis are both fine. As original equipment tires go, they're entirely sufficient for street use and the occasional track day. Plus, they protect your rims until the proper fitment of NA1 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires arrive. They're totally fine.

I’m very impressed with the Goodyears, I’ve found once you get 1500 miles on them they quieten down and stick very well.

”made in Germany” on the sidewall, I won’t complain.

I drove on the Pirelli's at the Porsche track experience at Barbers and they were very good which surprised me as the Audi ones I hated. Never felt loose around the track and we were driving hard. When we did a hot lap at the end of the day with the instructor driving they still held and they pushed the car way harder.

I have the Goodyear on my C2 and they have been great. A bit noisy but have stuck really well.

I like Michelin performance tires because of their characteristics, they could be better or worse than others I don’t know, I can’t push it to that limit to find out myself anyways. As for road use, these new Pirelli on my C4S does make me feel better than those older ones on my previous 991.2. I’m sure those Goodyear and maybe Continental are just as good for 90% of how we use them. Having said that, if there’s proper size ps4s, they’d still be my 1st choice.

Interesting comparison of the Goodyear F1 Supercar 3 to the Michelin PS 4S
