No leaks.
This and RAS were a couple of my toughest decisions. Had the new look with more body color on the glass roof been available on the 2021s or if I had a 2022 allocation, I would have ordered my build with the glass roof.

I've always considered a sunroof to be more for women and cigar chompers.

I got it strictly for aesthetic purposes, I think the top of the car looks amazing with that long panel of black. If I had spec'ed a black 911 I wouldn't have got it but it looks great against chalk. But no, I never actually use the sunroof.

Built mine without it. I think it makes the white car look a bit better. On my 5 cars none have a sunroof. Not all are on purpose, some don't have it as an option.

I used to have a sunroof. Loved them on all my cars until one day the thing just shattered out of nowhere. It just imploded on my 2018 audi.

Never again will I get one.

Yeah, apparently that was (is?) a thing. I don't think Porsche or Audi are famous for it, but some manufacturers are: https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...nger-overhead/

I absolutely recommend the glass sunroof for the look and the lighting...maybe once or twice a year I open the sunroof for a guest in the car. But main reason I wanted it was for the look and the lighting.

That has been corrected for 2022. You can get the car prepped for a roof rack without sunroof now.

For OP, I went with the sunroof simply for the extra light in the cabin. Chicago can be dreary.

Hi Doug,

Can you confirm that opening and closing the screen shade on your glass roof in fact does bring in a reasonable amount of light in the cabin? I ask because on both my Macan and C wagon (with panoramic glass) it makes ZERO difference unless you're sitting in the back seat.

From sitting in the car at the dealer, it did. I’ll have to tell you what it is like on May 1st when I get my car.

Yes definitely more common on other manufacturers. But when it happened to me I was like.. "never again" lol.

I have alcantara roof Lining. Obviously not the same as a sunroof but it is better than no sunroof and stock head liner

Actually they made a major improvement that I would actually get me to select the glass sunroof with the 2022 if I wasn't on a 2021 allocation.

The 2020/2021, if you selected glass sunroof, the strip of roof between the windshield and the sunroof was black (regardless of body color) and the strip between the sunroof and the back windshield was as well. When the pillars of body came up the windshield, with the glass sunroof option, they had an odd widening to them at the top, that broke up the color lines.

Now with the 2022, they have made all of the roof that is not sunroof body colored, just like on the steel sunroof version. Which in my opinion makes the glass sunroof car look so so so much better, so much that I would option a glass sunroof on a 2022 build but did not on my 2021 build.

Maybe that's my OCD!!
Sorry to resuscitate an old thread, but is this definitely the case? I really dislike the black panels in front of and behind the glass sunroof. The current configurator still shows it as black, and states:
  • Roof painted in front and behind the glass module in High Gloss Black
