Default Intake sound / blow off

Any way to get more sound out of an intake? When I test drove the 992, I didn’t get that whoosh turbo sound or the blow off between shifts. I know there’s no blow off valve, but with other cars which had bypass valves, it was pretty easy to get more sound out of the intake. Figured that while I’m waiting for my car to come in, I’d check if there was something I could order in. Perhaps someone with replacement filters can comment?

I read that thread before. Nothing that helps except maybe that some reported a tiny bit of sound increase from the filter while others reported no change. Curious if there is an actual intake available or anything that really gets the intake to sing.

BMC drops in and SOUL sport cats. When driving, if I build boost and lift off quickly, you will hear stereo swooshing sound from one turbo to the other. Similar to JDM compressor surge, but different. People in the car with me ask me WTF was that all the time...lol. I love it.

That loud enough for ya? = )

Can’t really hear it through the vid but sounds like that’s the only way to make any improvements :-)

@BIGWORM sounds great! This is the hot ticket right here! The BMC filters do make a slight difference in intake / turbo sound on the 991.2 and 992 Carreras. Upgrading your catalytic converters to high flow units unlocks more sound from the turbos, not nearly as dramatic on the 992 Carrera as the 991.2 Carrera, but improved nonetheless.

Its not in your face loud. But people have asked me many times what that noise was. Or tell me "I can hearz your turboz!" whistling at me.

Thank you Mr. Spock. I wish I still had a video of my 991.2 GTS with the BMC and Soul combo. That was by far my favorite sounding 911 I ever had. That setup was indeed much louder. Sometime I miss my old GTS.

I haven't get gotten BMC filters but I definitely hear the intake and turbos with the Sports cats.

However, I only seem to hear them at low speeds. At higher speeds & RPM I don't really hear them....maybe because they are drowned out by the howl of the flat 6?

Its mostly low idle sounds. I hear mine mostly when pulling up somewhere to park. On higher speeds I can hear mine release pressure if I build boost and lift off the throttle. Mine will make this air swooshing sound from driver to passenger side. Very similar to compressor surge sound of 90's turbo'd JDM cars. I dont purposely try and make it do that. But Ive given mine some gas to pass and had to lift off for whatever reason and heard it a few times now. Have you heard that before?

+1 for the sport cats. It makes the car sound like a GT2RS. It lets more of the noises out.
Agreed with @BIGWORM

Porsche has darn their darnedest to play down the turbo noises of this engine. They've done a good job, because it sounds like an NA engine when you're high in the rev range.

I wish Porsche would not have done that. I want mine to sound like the GT2RS. Who cares about NA sound. That so 1990's.. lol.

^ I might have heard it. I will try again and listen.

My problem is that every time I am pushing the throttle I'm too busy looking around for police to bother listening. That's the biggest BUMMER OF THIS DAMN CAR!!! AAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHH

I'm looking at doing this exact set up. Any issues on warranty?

Not at the dealership I go to service for. Call your SA, and ask them how they feel about sport cats that don’t trigger a CEL.

You could also just do it and have a independent shop remove them for yearly dealer service. That cost no more than 300 a swap and takes them 45-1hr max. Either way I would do it!
