Default Dog and Sport-Tex

I'm almost done with my 992 C2 build but I'm second-guessing my Sport-Tex choice due to the fact that I will probably let my lab in the back seats (or shelf, wherever he fits) a few times a week.
Does anyone have any experience with pet hair and the Sport-Tex seats? The texture looks like it would be IMPOSSIBLE to clean out:

(Thanks to someone on this forum for the photo, btw)

My exterior choice is Chalk/Crayon so I guess I could just do boring black leather with chalk stitching...

Surprisingly easy to clean, and very durable. We've had labs - I'd put Sport Tex at the top of the dog-friendly list (e.g., leather will get scratched from claws). I wouldn't second guess your decision.
Edit - we foster a ton of dogs (over 50 in the last 2 yrs!) so we know the trials and tribulations of shedding dog hair... again, Sport Tex is a good option and easily vacuumed. Dog har doesn't get lodged into the fabric...

Thank you for sharing your experience! I am happy to have Sport-Tex back on the top of the list.

Would you get the sports tex again ? I'm on the fence about it, never seen it in person. Does it look real good in person, (not tacky) ?

Looks awesome in person. It was the number one choice for my build.

There is a great thread here someplace dedicated to the stuff.

Sport Tex looks awesome. It goes well with the CF interior, too. It also seems to make the seats more comfortable while giving more grip so you don’t slide around in corners. However, after having the vented seats, I would think twice about it in hot climates.

Thats great to hear. I chose Sport Tex going for a classic retro look. I have a chocolate lab that goes almost everywhere with me and I will not hesitate to bring her in the 911. My view on it is it's just stuff. My dog is part of my family.

Thanks for the work you do fostering animals. I support our local rescue and a good friend of mine fosters bull dogs while they wait for adoption and has for years.

I don't have those seats but there are a few tricks to cleaning pet hair off of seats or carpet. Chemical guys and other car detailing websites sell rubber pet hair brushes, they are remarkably effective to brush out pet hair. another tip is to dilute and spray fabric softener on the carpet or seat before using the pet hair brush- it really helps separate the pet hair and it's pretty amazing how easy it is to clean up. There are youtube videos that demonstrate it and it works really well.

Yeah, you cant get the ventilated seats with the sports tex. unfortunately
But I did hear that the sport tex does not get as hot from the sun as the leather.
Can anyone confirm ?

Im curios about this as well. We have a large hybrid who comes to my office often. Shedding isnt the issue, its the sand and dirt that drops from his paws so cleaning leather seems to be easier.
With ST, I see this being problematic as the weave seems to have little "pockets", is that accurate?
I imagine these become little cups for dirty and sand to accumulate and be hard to vaccum out. Thoughts?
thanks

See if you can find a car with ST at a dealership. I'd say they look more 3-dimensional then they actually are, and I wouldn't think sand/etc would be an issue though I don't have experience with that.
And for the hot climates question - ventilated leather is probably best, but Sport Tex stays cool and is much better than non-ventilated leather. In North TX we commonly have 100+ degree days - you never scald your legs getting into a parked car wearing shorts with ST.

The sport-tex is fantastic! Would go really well paired with CF roof and chalk.
