I find my interior to be too light when driving at night. The ambient lights made it worse and didn’t seem to have a synergy between them. What I mean is that the color you selected was not uniform across all of the lights. Reminded me of my neighbor who has both a white LED and a warm LED on his exterior carriage lights. They are both white.... but not the same.

Bottom line for me is they are turned off. Just my experience and opinion.

I have the white light predecessor to this on my 2020, the lighting design package. It really does make the interior nicer on those trips at night by providing just enough light inside. It’s really an unsung option that I wouldn’t have spec’d without the urging of my SA.

Highly recommended.

Agree - exact same experience. Haven't noticed any difference in colors across different areas of the car, but generally just use the white light.

I have a car on order, with the ambient lighting can it be dimmed to be completely off or almost off?

Even dimming them down at night is not an option?

Yes, they can be dimmed down to whatever level you want.

Yeah, I have that problem too, I get totally confused by how similar the interior is in our 992 compared to our Cayenne. Especially when climbing in and out, it's such a similar experience.

I chalk it up to his State of Virgina’s totalitarian approach to traffic laws. Think of how frustrating it would be to have an otherwise fun car in that state. It’s understandable it would have driven him insane.

Reviving a dead thread...

But, does anyone know if ambient lighting was NOT spec'd if it can be activated by dealer?

Just wondering if the hardware is always there, but it's really just a software feature that could be enabled.

A little cheesy for sure, but it'd be cool if you could set the color according to the mode you were in. For example, blue for normal and red for sport+.
