Default GMG Racing - 992 TURBO GMG WC-SPORT EXHAUST SYSTEM

GMG is proud to introduce you to our new 992 Turbo GMG WC-Sport Exhaust System for the 992 Turbo and Turbo S! We’ve taken our signature design, used for our Porsche 991.1 & .2 Turbo WC-Sport Exhaust Systems, and combined it with the new factory exhaust layout used on the all new 992 Turbo to re-create our signature sound.

Handcrafted out of T304 Stainless steel and meticulously TIG welded to aerospace specifications with great precision, the system is lighter than the factory. Weighing in at 31 pounds, the GMG Porsche 992 Turbo exhaust system is 15 pounds the factory system.

The system features high flow German made HJS HD 200 cell sport catalysts and a crossover x-pipe to increase power by balancing the exhaust gas pulses from both engine banks. This feature eliminates drone and helps create the signature sound that only the GMG WC system can offer.

The crossover x-pipe works by balancing the exhaust pulses from either side — or cylinder bank – of the engine. It allows the exhaust gases to flow down the path of least resistance while speeding up exhaust velocity. At lower revs, turbulence is formed as exhaust gases try to shuffle past a second column of gases coming from the other side. The X-Pipe merges the exhaust into two uniform streams, allowing a smooth flow from engine to exhaust exit.

Using the factory bracket location, the exhaust system is a direct bolt on replacement for the factory system. To ensure no CEL (Check Engine Light) and proper operation of the vehicle, the HJS HD catalytic converters are OBD2 compliant and the O2 sensor bungs are placed at their proper locations.

Features:
  • No check engine lights or engine warnings
  • Horsepower and torque increased 24 hp/52 ft-lbs without software upgrade on our in-house mustang dyno cell
  • German made HJS high-flow, 200 cell sport catalysts; OBD2 compliant, no CEL (Check Engine Light)
  • Crossover X-Pipe to counteract drone
  • Constructed out of US Made T304 Stainless steel
  • Significant weight savings over the stock system.
  • Direct bolt on replacement, All hardware and clamps included
  • Requires no modification to vehicle
  • Made right here in Southern California

Looks clean and simple, nice work! Pairing this with cat bypass pipes would probably make for the best sounding 992 exhaust note one could hope for.

Two questions:

1) Plans for a OEM compatible valved version?
2) Plans to make this for the Carrera models?

This system has 3” piping.

Both are potentially in the works!

It would be pretty sweet to open up that rear center valence to show off that exhaust....some mesh where the two square sections are would be fire.

@gmgracing Does removing the factory valves trigger a CEL?

A lot of push (I noticed) to create exhausts for the Turbo models.

I guess the Turbo just sounds bad, or maybe owners of Turbos are complaining about it more?

I know people are doing exhaust mods on the Carrera models, but somehow the Turbo has much more of that "vacuum cleaner" sound when revving.

Full disclosure, I've never heard a Turbo revving in person, just online videos

I reckon there is just more of a market for it. Enthusiasts that will modify their 911s are more often Turbo or GT owners...

@gmgracing Thanks for response but that's not answering the specific question. Does your response mean disconnecting the stock valves DOES trigger a CEL but your system has a solution to prevent it? Or does it mean disconnecting the valves does NOT trigger a CEL to begin with?

Disconnecting the stock valves does trigger a CEL, but our system is setup to prevent that.

Bingo, thanks for sharing that info! would you mind sharing what your CEL solution is?

Do you get drone in the 1-3K RPM range where the factory valves would normally be closed (or partially closed)

Here is the answer to your first question...

"To ensure no CEL (Check Engine Light) and proper operation of the vehicle, the HJS HD catalytic converters are OBD2 compliant and the O2 sensor bungs are placed at their proper locations."

That’s classified info
We’re not experiencing any noticeable drone.
